Lou Dobbs Tonight: Mexican Congress Supports Insurrection in U.S.
CNN ^ | April 28, 2006 | Lou Dobbs

                                                Lou Dobbs Tonight

DOBBS: Mexican lawmakers are on their way to Los Angeles to participate in Monday's boycott and demonstrations in support of amnesty for all illegal aliens in this country. The Mexican government lawmakers last night passed a resolution showing their overwhelming support for the demonstrations and boycott in the United States. All political parties in the lower house of the Mexican Congress approved the resolution. This is just the latest example of Mexican politics trying to influence U.S. policy and U.S. public opinion in the illegal alien amnesty debate.

Illegal aliens in this country and their supporters intend to severely disrupt the nation's economy and our schools with their boycott and demonstrations Monday. The groups will not consider their boycott a success unless they succeed in basically shutting down our cities and pressuring Congress to pass amnesty for all illegal aliens.

The longer this goes on and the more f'ing anti American rhetoric that is blown out there by the f'ing Mexicans the more ready I am for a declaration of a "state of emergency" and the totally sealing of our borders and total boycott of all things Mexican, including their fracking oil.

A few people do have a problem with it. I've noted that here on FR some appear to be working for the illegal aliens lobby; or are anti-US activists or White House operatives who are ecstatic with every word President Bush utters.

No kidding. It really is amazing. We're pissed about our government not securing our borders, allowing illegals to committ rampant crime, harm our educational and healthcare systems and suck our social services (that are meant for our citizens) dry. And when we complain, WE'RE THE BAD GUYS! It's a very sad day that we, as so called conservatives, are even arguing about it.

how about annexing Mexico, making about 3 states out of the territory. They have all the oil we will ever need and thousands of miles of beach-front property just begging for development. hummmm..

Oh yeah! We could instantly add millions to the welfare rolls, Social Security, Medicare, etc. with virtually no new tax base. A dream come true -- for them! No thanks.

The guest-worker program changes the status of the illegal to legal. That's all it does. This will facilitate the guest-worker to obtain a driver's license. It will make it easier for them to get government services. Healthcare, Education and Welfare services will still be free. Isnt' that a great improvement? These are the things U.S. Citizens have overwhelmingly spoken out in opposition to. Our current President disagrees with them. The fact that he does and is in a position of power, and has backing in the Senate and House is the worst possible scenario for our nation.

As for whether this is an amnesty or not, it has been suggested by this President that a road to citizenship should be provided for these folks. No matter what you want to call it, these people will be naturalized. If you want to call this process a pancake, I don't care. It is still going to wind up in citizenship for people who broke our nation's laws.

You and I don't just disagree about which plan is worse, the Republicans or Democrats. They are both dead wrong on this topic. Since the Republicans are in a position to exert their will, they are the worst culprits at this point in time. If the Democrats were in power and doing nothing about it, they would be the worse. They aren't.

I supported the Republicans gaining control over the Legislative and Executive branches of government. On this topic, it was a wasted effort. I backed them so they could cater to foreign naitonals on my dime against my will.

I never said Lou Dobbs was the problem, I simply pointed out how he's successfully marketed the problem.

Ditto...................... I'm about even ready to start disliking "Frank" the gardener on the old "Father Knows Best" show. He was a nice enough guy, but these Mexicans are getting very annoying!

I guess the Republican party is about...money. I was thinking it was about winning votes.

It's about both.

I think you're confusing ratings with intelligence. I didn't watch CBS either, but knew who Dan Rather was. People who pay attention to news know very well who Dobbs is. Yes, Cavuto has the number one rated financial cable program, but that doesn't mean Dobbs is unknown to those who watch Cavuto.

Like Michael Savage, I think he's finally found a venue where he can sell himself. He's suddenly become well known.

That's how Limbaugh got his start, and became so popular. Limbaugh was saying the things us right wingers couldn't hear from the Lamestream Media or other sources. Rush was the only outlet expressing my views on a National level.

Dobbs is expressing views on immigration now that are held by many right wingers like myself, and his audience will pick up.

If Lou plays it smart he could become a ralling point for those of us who are against illegal immigrants, and want first and foremost the border with Mexico secured.

Secure the border before any of this appeasement nonsense like amnesty, guest worker program, comprehensive reform, path for illegals to become citizens, etc is taken up by the Congress. - tom .

"Lou Dobbs Tonight: Mexican Congress Supports Insurrection in U.S."

This is wrong. And I'm talking about the title of the thread not the source article.

The title of the thread says insurrection but that word doesn't appear in the source article's title or body. It's also wrong - this is a protest, not an insurrection. We gain nothing by exaggerating an already bad problem. By exaggerating and making it sound like protesting is illegal and should be put down we risk marginalizing out legitimate concerns.

I shouldn't even have to put this next paragraph in here but since its natural to wonder about my motivation for criticizing...here goes:

We need to make being illegally in this country into a crime. We need a border wall with rigorous patrols. After we work on the border and the existing illegals, we need to greatly increase legal immigration from all over the world. Such immigration, of the best and most motivated for freedom people from all over has been the lifeblood of our country - the constant source of revitalization that has taken the best from the world and made it American - this needs to continue but is being blocked by the hordes of illegals from Mexico. It is also critical to appreciate and welcome those people of Mexican decent who have gone through the legal process and become Americans - this is about illegal immigration, not national origin.

"I don't think the guest worker program is akin to amnesty and I think the dems' position is worse".

Haven't you been paying attention? The May Day Boycott isn't about any "guest worker program"...forgetaboutit. They are demanding FULL AMNESTY. Nothing else. There in lies the problem.

We're so darn addicted to cheap labor, they perceive they have us by the throat. But in reality, we hold all the cards, and refuse to call their bluff. What are they going to do? GO HOME? LOL.

How dumb can we be? They are in no position to "demand" anything. They are Illegal foreigners who have come here on their own free will..They made their bed, so it's our way or the highway..

NO DEAL!

I bow out. I can't refute anything you've said. It seems what I've read about the GWP failed to mention these important facts. My initial comfort with it was based on: 1. we'd be able to identify and track these people; 2. they'd be sent home after the temporary period of time and could then apply for citizenship. I thought this was a good plan b/c we'd be able to identify these people and maintain some control over them, but I didn't realize they'd have the rights you defined.

The only other "objection" I have to the "get 'em all out" side of the spectrum is - how? How the hell could we identify them, round them up, and deport them? What about those reprots re: cost? Finally, wouldn't that piss off a load of people who could then turn on us from the inside and perhaps be more sympathetic to other groups trying to get in and cause us problems?

I agree some of these people are contributing to our problems and thus, they should be removed. But, I also think it's impractical to round up all these people and perhaps counterproductive to do so when some are actually doing good here. Also, I think our focus should be on securing the border first, then we can figure out what to do with those here already. I don't see how we can do both while fighting terror abroad and at home. With what resources, what money?

Look, I hate to break it to you, but when people cater to foreign nationals against your will, THEY ARE NOT ON YOUR SIDE.

I was a Republican supporter from my first vote in 1972 until the year 2000. I still wind up voting for them almost exclusively, so I think it's safe to say that I've viewed them as 'on my side' for a long time.

What you and I have to come to grips with is this. I have disliked the Democrats as long as I can remember. Their policies have been not only abysmal, but terribly destructive. Now I'm having to face the fact that for the first time in my life, the Republicans policies are also abysmal and equally destructive.

Yes, we can agree that certain policies are better than others. The War on Terrorism is a good example. I support that. When it comes to overspending, illegal immigration and betraying the chidren of our nation to the Marxist indoctrinators, we've got to come to grips with the fact the Republican party is as big an enemy as the rabid socialists. Both will wind up destroying our nation.

I agree, hence I don't support the boycott and plan on spending extra money that day.

This is just the latest example of Mexican politics trying to influence U.S. policy and U.S. public opinion in the illegal alien amnesty debate. Well then they are some of the most PR inept people out side the US Republican party in the World. The only influence they are having is HARMING their cause.

It is an excellent marketing approach.

I remember Michelle Malkin when she was just a local girl. Even when she moved on to the national circuit she retained pretty much the same style that she had here in Seattle. It wasn't until she started hitting on the illegals theme that she really took off.

There's nothing wrong with that.

Actually, getting under your thin skin is the highlight of my day.

It is so like you to have such an inflated opinion of yourself. I'm enjoying the fact that you are showing everyone on this thread that you can't manage to be specific with how you disagree with me, but opt instead for smartass cheapshot comments.
