WASHINGTON, April 27 Patrick J. Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor in the C.I.A. leak case, is expected to decide in the next two to three weeks whether to bring perjury charges against Karl Rove, the powerful adviser to President Bush, lawyers involved in the case said Thursday.
With the completion of Mr. Rove's fifth appearance before the grand jury on Wednesday, Mr. Fitzgerald is now believed to have assembled all of the facts necessary to determine whether to seek an indictment of Mr. Rove or drop the case.
Lawyers in the case said Mr. Fitzgerald would spend the coming days reviewing the transcript of Mr. Rove's three hours of testimony on Wednesday and weigh it against his previous statements to the grand jury as well as the testimony of others, including a sworn statement that Mr. Rove's lawyer gave to the prosecutor earlier this year. The lawyers were granted anonymity so they could speak about the internal legal deliberations in Mr. Rove's case.
A lawyer with knowledge of the case said that Mr. Rove had known for more than a month that he was likely to make another appearance before the grand jury, and that he had known since last fall that he would be subject to further questions from Mr. Fitzgerald before the prosecutor completed his inquiry.

Is still any law, any decent judge exist in this country?
This is all New York Slimes spin-spin-spin. Fitz already told Rove he was NOT a target, according to Rove's attorney.
This is nothing but the NYT trying to work itself up into a state of full engorgement prior to exercising their left (what else) wrists.
Bring it on, Patrick. You're doing the Lord's work but, being a Democrat operative, you're too stupid to realize it.
I think the perp walk is going to be pretty much in a different direction than Fitzgerald imagined when he and his little friends in the CIA started out on this path.
The libtards and DUmmies are setting themselves up for another Fizzlemas.
Remember the clinton precedent...
Perjury is not a criminal if it's not associated with a crime. Except for republicans in whose case the seriousness of the charge always trumps the nature of the evidence.

Afraid of little hurricane, scarecrow?
"Well, we were investigating whether John Doe robbed a bank. Turns out no bank was robbed, but Mr. Doe told us under oath he smoked, but a friend of his says he never saw Mr. Doe with cigarettes."
I predict that if he indicts Rove that he will not be convicted, nor will Libby.
zzzZZZZzzzz....
Well, Fitzmas was a bust, the Easter Fitz didn't come through, and now we have the Fitzorial Day Parade coming next.
Followed by the Fitz of July, Labor Fitz, Fitzoween and then, of course, Fitzgiving.
I think these holidays are just being made up by the press in order to sell papers!
But Rove's lawyer said yesterday that the prosecutor said Rove was not a target.
There is no underlying crime. The agent in question wasn't even covert.
And Libby's case is going to fall apart before trial.
The left will cry and invent some new conspiracy to explain how the witch hunt failed to find a witch.
You got that right. One of the people pardoned on Clinton's last day of office got in trouble because while a special prosecutor was investigating him for one thing, this person was negotiating buying a home in California using the phone. Well he was charged with(and found guilty of) wire fraud because of something he said over the phone that was not deemed to be accurate. He was never found guilty from the original investigation.
I'm not so optimistic. Fitz is not investigating that anymore. He's investigating the response to the investigation, and trying to decide whether Rove's failure to mention the Matt Cooper phone call until after Luskin lunched with Viveca Novak will revivify his vendetta against Rove.
Their objectivity is visible only to themselves and their goal is Hillary in 2008 (unless impeachment proceedings can be brought by a Dem takeover of the universe - also known as the "Secular Second Coming of Clinton".
OT: Charges against Rush Limbaugh dismissed.
This investigation is a big waste of money. The special prosecutor is a political hack. The real culprits here are the CIA, Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson who tried to sabotage the foreign policy of the USA. Yet this so-called prosecutor is hell-bent on taking down anyone close to the BUSH MAN.
