Saw it Saturday, 4/29. Best film of the year. Period.

Shame on Universal for giving it a small release.

It's funny, everytime I think of them, the heroes of United 93 and the WTC and the Pentagon, the same song comes to mind. Granted, it appeared in an unrelated film, but I find it hard to believe it was not influenced, at least subliminally, by the events of 9/11:

I am so high, I can hear heaven.
I am so high, I can hear heaven.
Oh but heaven, no heaven don't hear me.

And they say that a hero can save us.
I'm not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.

Someone told me that love would all save us.
But how can that be?
Look what love gave us.
A world full of killing, and blood-spilling,
that world never came.

And they say that a hero can save us.
I'm not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.

Now that the world isn't ending,
it's love that I'm sending to you.
It isn't the love of a hero,
And that's why I fear it won't do.

And they say that a hero can save us.
I'm not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.

I just got home from seeing United 93. I haven't been to the movies in at least 5 years, but I made myself go see this. I didn't want a lot of people around when I was watching this, and that's why I went on a Thursday afternoon. There were only 7 people in the theatre besides me.

The movie left me completely drained. I couldn't believe how tense I was waiting for the terrorists to make their move. Once they did, I kept putting myself in those passengers' shoes--how terrified those poor souls must have been. But then as the movie went on I found myself getting really, really mad, just as I figure the passengers did.

The thought ran through my mind during the movie that all the naysayers should be required to watch this movie. Then we could ask Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuckie Schumer, Teddy Kennedy, "Now do you remember why we went to war?" I think their hatred of President Bush is so great that it overrides all their thought processes.

It is beyond me how any American could sit through this movie and not be filled with complete rage at the enemy we face. It's not an easy thing to sit through, but everyone needs to see this movie.

Go see it again and again and again...I plan togo see it again tomorrow night.

Another film on 9/11 is the film "9/11", the story of the two French brothers taping that day with NY Fire fighters. Just finished watching that on DVD...

I saw this incredible movie Tuesday afternoon 5/2/06 in Midland, TX. (Had a day off after 3 months of working 7 days a week.)

Several things will remain with me forever.

1.The courage and determination of the men and women on Flight 93 to rise up against the evil terrorists, once the passengers and attendants realized the true nature of their situation.

2. The mass confusion around the nation about what exactly was happening.

3. The look on the face of the head of the FAA when the total gravity of the situation hits him and he says "Someone is at WAR with us!)

4. The cold blooded evil of the terrorists. Althought the movie doesn't overtly state this, the obvious conclusion is the terrorists are Enemy soldiers and not "criminals" in a purely legal sense. In other words, it is totally useless to use our court system to bring the terrorists to justice. The only way to bring them to justice is to defeat them militarily, i.e. to kill them before they kill us.

5. How short life is and how you never know when it will end.

6. The primary emotion I felt was anger. After the brutal murders of the Pilot, co-pilot, the flight attendant and the passengers, you get caught up in the righteous anger as the brave passengers come up roaring out of their seats to counter-attack the terrorists. And when you hear the one terrorists neck break, you know he deserved it.

I saw "United 93" yesterday.
The best words that come to mind to describe it are:
"Riveting" and "Intense".

First off, I don't understand the "R" rating. While the movie is unbearably intense, there is nothing in it that merits the "R".
(I'm guessing it was given to try and prevent as many people as possible from seeing it?)

The film takes you back to 9/11 terrorist attacks- the planes hitting the WTC and Pentagon, the total confusion and chaos of officials, trying to interpret what was happening, and how to deal with it. It was like going back in time to 9/11 and being able to see what was going on , on many different levels that day-but you know what the ending will be. I felt mostly angry and sad watching this movie. For me, it also brought up memories from 9/11 and how important it is that we not forget, that we NEVER FORGET.

I am in awe of the passenger's courage. They were ordinary people, mostly strangers to one another, who banded together to stand up to evil. They refused to let it triumph, even at the cost of their own lives. To me that is the main message of the film.
(Also- no one from the government came to save them. They figured out on their own, how to fight.)

Another thing that struck me was how precise the attacks were- the timing, the planning, no one expected them. When it was over I was thinking the terrorist's can do it again. And it will be something no one is expecting. In the meantime the 'rats continue to play games and scheme to get back in power, no matter what the cost to our nation.

I recalled that in the hours and days immediately following the attacks, while the the World Trade Centers , Pentagon, and the field in Pennsylvania were still smoldering, the number one concern of the Democrat party was, and still is, how can they benefit politically.

For some reason, I remembered Ted Kennedy on the floor of the Senate talking about tens of thousands of body bags that would be needed for our troops, that the enemy was superior- he was talking about the Taliban.

The movie is a chilling reminder that we need to take politics seriously. Who we elect, or allow to be elected by staying home ,is who would be running our nation during a crisis, as well as fighting the war on terror-Like it or not-we have to pay attention.

The democrats have done NOTHING, not one single, solitary thing, to defend this nation. If we EVER let them back into power, it will be to the total detriment of our country.

Wasn't the first thing Al Gore and the rest implied in the days right after 9/11 - that we should apologize, go to the UN, and ponder what we did to make the hijackers so angry?

I am angry at president Bush too- for allowing the rats to get away with tearing down our troops and war effort , and tarnishing his presidency.( Even Rush Limbaugh is talking about a shadow government operating. President Bush's "good friend" the former president maybe? )

I loved it the other day when he (Bush) took on Helen Thomas at the press conference, wouldn't let her interrupt him, and told her how it was- He needs to go on all the liberal mainstream tv shows. He has to make the American people think about the issues, everything from the economy to the Iraq war. He has to challenge the "press"- he has to challenge the 24/7 campaign ad for the democrat party that masquerades as "the press" and "journalism" and their 30 second drive-by attacks/sound-bites (brilliant description of the Media by Rush Limbaugh).

President Bush led this nation through its darkest hours, it's a crying shame that he has allowed the rats to drag him down. I don't understand it.

United 93 is a must see film. It should be shown in the schools. We need to remember what is really important, and support the war on terror. We are up against a soul-less, vicious enemy.

Great film, not easy to watch, it stays with you a long time.

I saw it tonight, it's good. But from the photos I've seen of the terrorists, the actors seem too white to me.
