whoa, brother.
That is your wife. Go make up. Do not let a movie cause trouble like that. This is just a movie. Based on true events, but still a movie. An important movie to so many people.
Take a lesson from 9/11. Those people did not expect that their last day on this earth. It was. If this was your last day on this earth. Would you want it to be a day where you were mad at your wife ? Go love her. Go tell her you are sorry and give her a kiss or something !

I made that comment to several people after the movie. I told them this was the first part of a very long haul. No one would argue with me.

I just finished seeing the "Flight 93" version on A&E. This movie is all drama.
At the crash site, did anyone catch the conversation between the firemen and FBI(?) men? Conspiracy tinted, maybe?
"United 93" is much better (although tragedies like this are not better, nor good). It brought you back to 9/11 like it happened today.

What State are you living? I went to the 4:45PM showing and there was only a couple of dozen people in it. Montgomery County...the Peoples Republic of Maryland The 5:10 showing was packed in King of Prussia PA (NW of Philly).

There is a film which shows a sucide bomber in a automobile that EOD took. They tried to ram the car into a tank and it didn't go off. This one guy is just sitting there trying to decide what to do. The EOD team sent the robot in and they have the camera on him. Finally he blows himself up. He looked like your basic normal everyday young man. He did look a little worried about things however.

Incredible. I haven't felt this much anger since 911. Every American should see this film. Take your family and friends. Tell everyone you know to go and see it. We need this reminder right about now.

God bless you for your service. It's funny, I wanted to apply for JAG (I was gradutating law school, And had my first born child 3 months later). My dad, out of the blue, came to visit me and told me the same thing--he wanted that during the Korean War. Except he was 4F for his high blood pressure: Because he'd had the bar exam the day before. :)
Just a note to those in the field: there are so many who admire you and would love to help...but we're failures next to you,'
Thank you

Actually I was thinking "we should have just nuked the whole middle east". I guess I did not find them likeable. The average (rational) person seeing the movie will not come out with a warm and fuzzy feeling about Muslims

Both myself and my men were always in some sort of trouble, we always needed good lawyers. You would have come in handy.
If you are not too old, go talk to a recruiter. Sometimes they can cut you a special deal, plus there is always the Reserves and National Guard.

Naaa..I am not a "hero".
Heroes are ones who sacrifice their lifes for their fellow countrymen and for others.
I have done no such thing.
True hereos are the military folks who died in Desert Storm, Somalia, and those who died in Iraq and all past conflicts/wars.
True heroes are the crew and passengers of United 93. They knew they were not going to make it, but they did what they did in order to save the people at the White House/Capitol Building.
Those are the true Heroes.
I salute them...

Ben Sliney is looking at it saying "That is NO small plane. Look at the size of that hole!" (Take THAT DU conspirators!)Then the ATCs that are actually watching the second plane fly into the tower. It was like opening a fresh wound, again. Switch to NORAD, and they are trying to figure out what is going on. Each tower has a piece of the information, but none of it has been put together. NORAD is only getting sketchy reports. Someone at one point says "How are we supposed to protect the entire eastern seaboard with only four planes?" And you feel the sense of helplessness.
A new batch of movie trailers here, including scenes with Sliney and NORAD.
I recommend, as reading, a related book "The Day the World Came to Town" (by Jim Defede, ReganBooks, softcover, 244p.). It is the story of 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland where as a result of Sliney's order 38 planes with 6,600 passengers and crew landed in a town with only 10,000 people. How the people of Gander and surrounding communities came together to welcome, feed and house those passengers and how the passengers reacted when they found out what had happended is the focus of the book. A very good and very fast read.

I haven't read the book, but I have heard about that story before.
For a short time, the world came together as one in solidarity...but alas, that didn't last long, did it?

Is Flight 93 lots better than the Flight 93 on A & E?

Hello,
Getting back to anger is what is needed to continue and ultimately win this war. It becomes too easy (and I am guilty of this as well), to move on, think of our own lives, outside of this huge issue. And who the hell wants to think about it? BUT, we must. I look at my son, and know we must...
Glad to be here, MOgirl
