Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!
And perhaps a book? :) a chance to make some $$$ for a nice guy!
This is a great move.
As much as I appreciate our President for not listening to polls or public opinion, the greatest flaw of this presidency has been the presentation of its policies to the American people. Granted, the administration is fighting a very hostile media. However, the administration has not been able to go around the media to promote its agenda. This has damaged the presidency and has not helped the Republican party.
As much as I despise x42, I appreciated his skills in communicating himself and his agenda with the American people. Yes, he is a glorified used car salesman, and he always promoted style over substance. But, with the help of a willing media, he was able to convince the American people to elect him twice and to survive impeachment. He was able to get a large amount of people to like him as a person.
Our current president has a lot of substance, but very little "style". As long as the MSM beats him up consistently every day, regular non-political Americans can't help but have a negative opinion of him, resulting in dreadful poll numbers.
The addition of Tony Snow gives the Bush administration a savvy press operative that can communicate the President's agenda in the face of a hateful and hostile media.
Kudos to the President, and congratulations to Tony Snow.
We're going to lose in November big time thanks to that attitude. I guess two great appointments to the Supreme Court were also meaningless sop.
Prime example being social security reform proposals.
I don't know what makes me happier. The news about Tony Snow or the news that illegal immigration spamming is now officially passe. Thanks.

Looks like it's official...

His doctor must have given him the confirmation because of the recent health issues.
** he doesn't LOOK Catholic...**
BTTT!
Thanks for the ping!
Sweet.
who exactly would you like to see as WH Press Sec
""His appointment is disturbing for two reasons.""
youre actually disturbed by his appointment????
your post is full of contradictions
I think he'll make a far better spokesman than his predecessor.
And, what the heck...he might as well get paid for what he was already doing for nothing.
I can't think of a better choice for the job than Tony. He'll do a great job and when it's over, I'm sure he'll land on his feet.
My radio will certainly be waiting for him if he wants to come back.
The mainstream press was never going to be Bush's friend. But the administrations actions towards the press have been among their larger mistakes. You don't need the press to be supportive in order to use them to your advantage. The press was never Reagan's allies but he was able to play them like a violin and use them to his advantage time and time again. The administration's treating the press like the enemy has ensured that the president's message is distorted or ignored on a daily basis.
"I think Tony is too weak for the job. We needed a more hard hitting spokesman. A Newt Gingrich or something similar."
Or Bill O' Reilly... SHUT UP YOU PIN HEAD OVER THERE GREGORY!!! ;-)
He basically compares the republican leaders (bush, frist and hastert) to schumer!
Calls it silly pandering.......now he'll have to defend what bush does. For a guy with opinions like tony, this is going to be difficult, me thinks.
