I used to recommend this site, but I don't much anymore. It's too hard explaining to new people all of the factions, the grudges, the trolls, the single-issue people, etc. And how do you explain the jokes that appear on threads about tragic occurrences, or the 8 zillion creative torture suggestions that show up when the Muslim terorists do something?

Tony Snow was originally an opinion columnist for the Detroit Free Press. I remember when he ended his column, he wrote that he wanted to devote more time to his new career on FNC. On FNC, he was host of Fox News Sunday, which put him in a moderator role instead of a pundit role. When Snow ended that job, he said it was because he wanted to be able to express his own opinions more than the moderator role would allow.
Now he's taking a job where he can't express his own opinions at all. But I bet that he figures it is offset by being a part of the most influential team that there is.

A press secratary's job is to parrot the party line, not to act like it's a call-in radio show. It's the last thing Bush needs is a daily ball-buster with the press.

There is also news making rounds that Tony Snow wants instant access to the President and would most likely take a chunk of responsibility from Dan Bartlett. That would be great because Tony Snow is a great articulator. This is the source:

What crass rudeness and self-centeredness. It's all about THEM!!! They are far above the President and far above Tony Snow and far above the rest of us (NOT), and are they ever mad...mad enough to elect Democrats back to power and hand them the Supreme Court.
