Time for a new FreeRepublic folding@home thread.
Our FreeRepublic team of 300+ members comprised primarily of Free Republic members in good standing have banded together to donate their excess CPU cycles to a worthy cause. Via distributed computing, millions of computers around the world, contribute directly to scientific research, in the quest for a greater understanding of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE).
Currently, the team is in 117th place (with 1,038 active CPUs - 29,000 completed Work Units and more than 5,000,000 points).
This is an entirely voluntary program, and if you want to learn more, please see the links posted below (or read one of the previous 16 folding threads)

WOW what a day. I hit 523 points for my 24 hour average, got to #12 on top 20 producers, passed Mediamole for the second time and passed Chesterbelloc. I have been getting good folds this week but today is the best. Just git a few more cpu's going everyone, this is too much fun.

Malsua (309,358 points) may be overtaken by lrenh (305,910 points) within a couple of days. Actually, it's already over, I won't get back up to 4k+ /day for at least another month. :)

I like your little program and when i git a few more will probably use it. I have 4 computers now and at times it seems to keep me busy checking up on them.Get it now... it's easy, fun, and best of all, created by one of our own !!! It's handy even if you only have 1 or 2 puters, well worth it if you have 4. While I don't want to speak for Egon, I'm quite sure he'll give you all the help you need setting it up. Just read the FAQ's, most of the dumb mistakes some of us made earlier are written in there.

I have an old 300Mhz PC, that if I can get Windows 98 running properly on it, I will put it on my LAN and let it be solely used for this cause. I'm doing the same thing... I have an old P5 that's partially gutted - filling her back up, hooking it into the line and letting it fold it's heart out.

"FR folding ping (FRmail me to get on/off ping list)"
Please add me.
I think the following (if not already on your list) would probably appreciate being added, also:
texas booster; Klutz Dohanger; Drango; papasmurf; dfwddr
Thanks and happy folding.

Pinging you to new thread.
Ping 'em if you got 'em.
(pardon me while I do a politically incorrect thing and light up - I always smoke while I fold, heheh.)

I didn't get a ping this time, looks like my name fell off your list, please add me again. Somehow I managed to cut&paste only part of the ping list.
This should ping all 285 people on the list
