"Bush polls have fallen to a new low," shout the newspaper headlines or the news anchors on television. "President Bush and Congress have reached their lowest numbers yet," they continue, trying to speculate whether this is caused by the high gasoline prices, the current economy, or the war in Iraq.
This is strange since there is good news, mostly hidden by the media, about all three.
1. Recently, the U.S. Energy Department announced the results of a land survey: "We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

2. Our economy is at its best today with unemployment at its lowest in decades and with three million new jobs added!
snip
3. We are winning the war in Iraq and, as I write this, Jawad al-Maliki, an experienced political operator and advocate for Iraq's Shiite Muslims, has won the approval

Anti-Bush information also pours into our homes from the news on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and even Fox News. The latter says that it is fair and balanced, implying that it gives you news from both the left and right political wings. But if TV news is to be balanced, should we not have at least one TV network that tells us only the truth about our country without two commentators spinning in two different directions? Don't we get enough opinion, generally slanted to the Left, from all the other networks?

Polls always reflect not what people think but rather how they react to the news they see and hear every day beamed or tossed into their homes by both television and print.

Are those 32-40% who support him liberals then?
At this point, it's about keeping the Rats out of power, no matter what.
Of course you're not --- you're not important. You're just a Bush basher here.
George W.Bush is THE problem with America today. His politics and his policy suck.
You never fail to leave the democrats BLAMELESS!
You're entirely predictable.
Same here and I agree. I do think Bush deserves some respect and he gets painfully little from many on this board. Some just can't see past their pet peaves.
A wall = I just gotta swim around it...darn it.
Anybody got a plane?..I can't swim.
New Orleans here I come!!
Truth hurts. I understand your anger. I suggest you direct your anger at the person who deserves your wrath. That would be President Bush. Not this conservative and not conservatives in general. We helped elect Dubya, and outside of the WOT, he's been a huge disappointment to conservatives.
Bush is having to deal with many controversial issues that Clinton deftly ignored. Popular presidents, with high poll numbers, can be bad for the country.
You know what, you could most certainly be right.
And I thank you for the article; this is one subject I know next to nothing about and maybe I can learn something.
It even looks like it has words that I can comprehend.
What about two excellent appointments to the Supreme Court?
Justices Roberts and Alito and his appointments to the Federal bench.
On this forum, yeah.
In the real world, which you have not had contact with in years, no.
I like to read the Gallup Poll. They are very good at approval ratings and historical accuracy in elections.
I do think they are fair.
LOL. you use the same words.
Not at all. I'm part of the 32% who still supports him. As a conservative, I learned at a young age what free speech and political dissent is all about. When Bush makes the right decision, he gets my support. When he makes the wrong decision, he gets my criticism. You don't like that. Too bad. I don't care what you like or dislike. Irrelevent to me.
>>>>You're entirely predictable.
So are you. You're infatuation for Bush is abnormal behavior.
If Republicans lose power it will be because they are doing a bad impersonation of the Democrats rather than supporting the causes that got them into power. I will vote for my Republican governor in November because he has actually acted like a fiscal conservative. I find it disturbing that some people think having an R next someone's name automatically means that conservatives are obligated to vote for that person. I suppose you think that conservatives are obligated to vote for McCain and Bloomberg. People can vote for whomever they want, and I would rather vote third party than vote for some quasi-Leftist with an R next to their name.
You might want to discuss that with the owner of this web site.
The problems were SO bad, in the 1950s, that Hollywood even made films about it. And BTW...the smuggling in of illegal aliens, from Europe, right after WW II and well into the '50s, was also so bad, that Hollywood made at least TWO films about that as well; I've seen all of these movies, which I have referred to, BTW. And FWIW, many of the illegal aliens, smuggled in, after WW II, were Nazis and Nazi sympathizer; most of whom have never been caught.
And since "OPERATION WETBACK", nothing has been done by any other president, congress, nor local governments to stop the flow. Reagan granted BLANKET AMNESTY TO ALL ILLEGALS LIVING IN THE USA. You people NEVER mention that either.
You need to learn how to debate, learn more about factual, recent American history, learn some manners, and grow up.
