Why the Polls are Low for President Bush

"Bush polls have fallen to a new low," shout the newspaper headlines or the news anchors on television. "President Bush and Congress have reached their lowest numbers yet," they continue, trying to speculate whether this is caused by the high gasoline prices, the current economy, or the war in Iraq.

This is strange since there is good news, mostly hidden by the media, about all three.

1. Recently, the U.S. Energy Department announced the results of a land survey: "We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

snip

2. Our economy is at its best today with unemployment at its lowest in decades and with three million new jobs added!

snip

3. We are winning the war in Iraq and, as I write this, Jawad al-Maliki, an experienced political operator and advocate for Iraq's Shiite Muslims, has won the approval

snip

Anti-Bush information also pours into our homes from the news on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and even Fox News. The latter says that it is fair and balanced, implying that it gives you news from both the left and right political wings. But if TV news is to be balanced, should we not have at least one TV network that tells us only the truth about our country without two commentators spinning in two different directions? Don't we get enough opinion, generally slanted to the Left, from all the other networks?

snip

Polls always reflect not what people think but rather how they react to the news they see and hear every day beamed or tossed into their homes by both television and print.

Power Is God Republicans.

Power is everything in politics.

An attribute you're never gotten to exercise though, huh?

I thought you guys didn't play the game of "who's a REAL Republican."

Isn't that "divisive?"

Don't you welcome all comers into the big happy tent, regardless of ideology?

"And what, exactly, would you have the president do about it?

And please don't say send in the military; that is beyond his authorized powers and ability."

This was the question you asked. I answered it. I see no stipulations about my response addressing the laws you are now referring to after the fact. Why don't you cite these laws by name if you know what they are? Name them. And I'll say again, local laws do not override federal laws.

What "other side" were they talking about.

I swear, if it wasn't for my mother and my husband doing the puzzle, I wouldn't have the News & Observer in the house.

I amuse myself by casually looking over the front page and trying to remember exactly how long ago it was on FR, you know what I mean? Sometimes I read the headlines and think, "Well, that IS old news."

See, here's the thing:

These people insult and castigate great conservative people continuously...day after day after day.

On this thread alone they've mistreated and insulted one of the hardest-working NRA leaders in America, and they don't even know it.

They're too stupid to know it.

They wouldn't care even if they knew it.

Because all they care about is themselves, and winning some online pissing contest in their own mind.

But the truth is, threads like this do Free Republic incalculable harm.

How about a two thought Nellie.

1. Secure the border and enforce immigration laws.
2. Control run away spending in Washington.

I thought these were conservative issues and I thought we had elected a conservative president, but I guess times change. And a conservative today agrees with Democrats on both these issues, it is just a matter of degree.

Maybe Bush ought to start a third party that takes issues from Republicans and Democrats. He can call it Reamocrat.

Power is everything in politics.

That's rather revealing on your part. Typifies a RINO's thinking exactly.

No, ideas are everything in politics.

Politics is not an end in itself.

Taking a leadership roll on the issues of illegal immigration, securing our borders and national security, Sen. George Allen, R-Va., made several trips to radio row in order to broadcast his message across the country. He stressed the importance of securing our borders for national security and of stopping illegal immigration, which is draining state coffers.

NewMax, May 2, 2005

On immigration, Mr. Allen, whose mother emigrated from France, is clear. His take is more like that of a House Republican than a senator. "I don't want to argue any-body's particular bill," he says. "First thing we need to do, and should have done, is [secure] our borders. We needed fences, whether virtual or physical, unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ground sensors, detention centers. . . . If that's all that can be done, do that now. Don't allow a lack of a consensus [on guest workers or other immigration issues] to prevent what needs to be done."

Mr. Allen is not sympathetic to allowing illegal immigrants living in the U.S. to "earn" citizenship without returning to their home country. If they want to work legally, "I think they have to go back . . . and apply to come in here as a temporary worker. If they want to become a citizen, go through the process of becoming a citizen." Anything short of that, he says, "rewards illegal behavior."

You mistake mocking for bitterness. But, of course, you would.

Mocking is what you do. You define the mocker.

You and those of your ilk are "divisive".

You don't want to be in "the tent", so why pretend?

Please, don't even attempt to play these games; you just look silly.

I wouldn't let the attacks of a few people get to you. The personal attacks speak for themselves. Keep up the hardwork. Some so-called conservatives certainly don't help when the advocate gun-grabbers like Bloomberg because he runs on a Republican ticket.

This may be the dumbest question ever, but why can't we build anymore refineries?

Because the Republicans in Congress and the White House have not grown a spine yet. Or at least one strong enough to explain to voters it is the Dems and Environmentalists that are more concerned with Caraboo than solving the energy problem and paying $3 at the pump.

Ahh, hell it is just easier to call for investigations every time prices go up.

Sometimes I read the headlines and think, "Well, that IS old news."

Exactly!!! I remember telling my sister the story about Hillary being on the board of Wal-mart. I was surprised she hadn't heard that, since she lives near their headquarters. It took a good while for some of the MSM to admit Hillary's Wal-mart connection.

You know what: I do not possess the gene that allows me to comprehend economics, but even I know we don't need any investigations!

Why is that ALWAYS their solution!

That WAS the query; however it pertained to what the local governments were doing. You did not answer the question at all; you didn;t even come close to answering it. Instead, you wrote about something completely and utterly different...what YOU would do about the borders and the English language, etc. if YOU were president.

As you can plainly see, from the wee bit of my CCPed post, I specifically asked you what THE PRESIDENT, not what what YOU would do if, GOD forfend, you were president, faced with a myriad of different locals hampering the process of catching illegal aliens.

Might I suggest that you find someone, with more ability to read and comprehend the written English word, than you, to help you? It is, quite frankly, impossible for me to write any simpler and plainer than I have been doing.

My number one IDEA is not to let the Democrats dismantle the Electoral College and/or appoint any judges to the Supreme Court. Which is exactly what they'll do if they get back in power.
