"Bush polls have fallen to a new low," shout the newspaper headlines or the news anchors on television. "President Bush and Congress have reached their lowest numbers yet," they continue, trying to speculate whether this is caused by the high gasoline prices, the current economy, or the war in Iraq.
This is strange since there is good news, mostly hidden by the media, about all three.
1. Recently, the U.S. Energy Department announced the results of a land survey: "We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

2. Our economy is at its best today with unemployment at its lowest in decades and with three million new jobs added!
snip
3. We are winning the war in Iraq and, as I write this, Jawad al-Maliki, an experienced political operator and advocate for Iraq's Shiite Muslims, has won the approval

Anti-Bush information also pours into our homes from the news on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and even Fox News. The latter says that it is fair and balanced, implying that it gives you news from both the left and right political wings. But if TV news is to be balanced, should we not have at least one TV network that tells us only the truth about our country without two commentators spinning in two different directions? Don't we get enough opinion, generally slanted to the Left, from all the other networks?

Polls always reflect not what people think but rather how they react to the news they see and hear every day beamed or tossed into their homes by both television and print.

True. But I think it's cheaper just to keep the supply down. More refineries mean more cost. It'll take a lot more volume to make up that difference.
I really believe we're the frog sitting in the hot water while they slowly turn up the heat. They turn it up until we start to get jumpy then they back it off a little - for awhile. After a few months of $3.50+/gal for 87 octane self-serve, just think how good $2.90 will look. And it will never go lower again. When the next panic-du-jour sends prices to $4.50 for awhile just think how happy you'll be when they get back down to, say, $3.50. We'll be happy to pay it.
And it won't cost them a cent. Hey, they're just maintaining their profit margins. Your personal "profit margin" will suffer but rest easy - their's won't. We're stuck and they know it.
I would suggest that you desist calling me silly names. It really doesn't do you any good at all.
I didn't realize that the Federal Government's powers are subserviant to unConstitutional Stae laws. Didn't the Civil War clear that one up? The President is responsible for protecting the nation form all threats foreign and domestic. I would say illgeal immigrants fall into both categories.
Knock off the personal attacks, or look more foolish than you already do.
Sure have, but I don't equate marriage with politics. Proof positive. You act as though you're married to Bush. Sorry, Laura beat you to to him. LMAO
>>>>>Frankly, if you "conservative realists," whatever the HELL that is (does it mean girly man) EVER agreed with us, we'd run for the hills. We don't need your kind of backstabbing, blackmailing "help" in the party.
No need to elaborate on your rhetoric concerning conservatives. You've shown time and again that you aren't interested in political conservatism. Reduced spending and limited govt aren't part of your agenda for America. Bsuh`s either. You're politics are all about status quo centrism.
Well, you have your big government POTUS, who spends like a liberal and expands the federal bureaucracy like an old school Democrat. Just don't expect conservatives to agree with you every time Bush farts a new entitlement program, or signs off on another outrageous pork barrel discretionary spending bill.
BTW, How about those Bush vetoes! LOL
:-)
I agree that some people take it to obsessive levels, but I do believe it also plays into a lot of issues, such as taxes, etc.
I addressed that TOO!
What is the single largest factor for Bush's low poll numbers?
More voters are liberal now (0) 0%
Loss of moderates on issues (0) 0%
Loss of GOP base on border issue (0) 0%
Media distortion of poll numbers (0) 0%
Total Votes: 0
Good grief .. 43% is not a new "all time" low.
The drive-by media just keeps taking their fake polls - over-sampling dems by double digits. No wonder they get the numbers they want to fit their agenda. The dems are hoping that if they just say it long enough .. the public will abandon the GOP in 2006. I've got news for them - ain't gonna happen.
And .. THE PRESIDENT'S PERSONAL APPROVAL RATING IS 61% - that's right .. SIXTY-ONE PERCENT. Any repub who believes the dems and won't be seen with the President IS A FOOL.
Looks like this is the thread where your bile towards conservatives finally completely boils over.
You're Anderson Cooper, aren't you?
We are the real base Howlin...the MSM be damed for their ratings driven agenda.
People call me "base" all the time. Finally, I'm getting some recognition.
BRAVA!
Did you get a "stealth" ping?
Well, look what the cat drug in.
Thanks! :-)
