David Gergen . replay of Anderson Cooper .. saying "rumor has it" .. Suzanne Malveaux saying it's a matter of dotting the i's. Gergen says he's a good choice, "but whether it satisfies the public, is another matter .. and it's too late .. shoulda happened a year ago .. blah blah blah"
John Roberts: hoping Snow has the latitude to impart some information so they can understand what the WH is doing. There has to be a dialogue . a flow of information .. you have to deal with the national media. Josh Bolten understands the value of dealing with the press. McClellan never really imparted information .. not even a casual conversation .. was very guarded.
Malveaux .. would not say it's just rumor .. people are very familiar with Snow's deliberations .. his health, confidence in things he's concerned about in the job .. expected to make announcement soon. Gergen: Snow has leverage .. if he walks out on them because they don't level with him, it would be devastating to "them." His predecessors never had the leverage that Snow would have.
