To say jobs Americans won't do is elitist and it is an insult to every American who works is those kinds of jobs. The reconquistas and their supporters are happy that those of us not in gated communities with private emergency rooms are second-class citizens in our own country, and that the president treats illegals with such reverence.

You can't be 'stabbing' anyone in the back when you are doing what you have said you will do.
This is true. From the very beginning, he said he was for a guest worker program. I just didn't think he'd consider one that was amnesty in guest worker clothing. My mistake! But I learned a very important lesson from it - I will be much more careful who I campaign and vote for, especially on my high priority issues. Just because they are a Republican doesn't mean they don't have a very liberal agenda up their sleeves.

Look...........I can tell you're going through all my posts and replying, but you are VERY confused.
I was taught conservatism on my Dad's knee, learning about the evils of the UN, socialized medicine and the department of education as a child. I read Phyllis Schlafley at 14, and have been a conservative ever since (LONGER than 37 years). And I've been a strong moral, pro-life conservative my entire life.
You're beginning to bug me here.....

I oppose amnesty, placing undocumented workers on the automatic path to citizenship. Granting amnesty encourages violation of our laws and perpetuates illegal immigration." -President George W. Bush
"This plan is not amnesty," the president said of his plan to match workers with jobs. "I oppose amnesty because it encourages violation of our laws."
-President Bush 1/12/04
In his book (1999), GWB wrote, "the most compassionate way to deal with illegals is to stop them at the border."

In 2004 I refused to vote for "the lesser of two evils", and I will continue that policy.
Wish you had called me in October 2004, so I would've come to my sense much sooner!

Calls for impeachment are for leftists, Dman.
I know plenty of others who live in SoCal who are not calling for impeachment, and still support the President.
They're conservatives.
I take it you were against impeaching Clinton then?
What about Bush's conservatism? So far it's not that impressive. Tax cut, judges (we'll see) - good. Spending, border - bad. War - bad (not aggressive enough) and good (that there is a war at all). Dems would rather choose to ignore the terrorist threat. So are we just batting .500?

So, the President's idea of a comeback tour to get his poll numbers up is to thump his immigration plan??? Fire his "new" chief of staff and buy him a copy of Hugh Hewitt's book - it's the war, stupid, not the issue that divides your party.
To: dagnabbit
Was that actual repetition or just stammering? He said it at least 4 different times. Two of those times might possibly count as stammering, but it's kind of iffy.
To: janetgreen
I just don't believe the "party line" of either of the major parties anymore, so I vote for principle over party. How dare you. *gasp and shudder*
To: zook
Bush bashing And then there is the other side of the coin, the majority on this thread see Stepford Mentality. It' s a funny thing zook, if I don't like something being said I don't continue to say the same things, I don't call names, don't insult, so where is the bashing coming from? If all else fails I leave the thread, I don't continue to try to enforce my will on other's who see things differently.

It's not hard for any real conservative to understand that President Bush is morally conservative and pro-life, and is in that, and his support for the military alone, a better President than Bill Clinton.
The fact that you can't see any difference (i.e. don't value the life of the unborn) makes me question what 'principles' you base your beliefs on.

Wish you had called me in October 2004, so I would've come to my sense much sooner! I made that decision soon after 9/11/01, SV, when he refused to close the borders. I still can't fathom that, almost 5 years later and we're still talking about the mess and dangers of open borders!

I hate to say this, but lately, Bush is doing a new Saturday Night Live skit each time he speaks. Hopefully so few Congress members take him seriously any more that he'll be unable to shove his sick amnesty betrayal down our throats.
