Joe Scarborough : Who cares if GOP loses Congress ?

Who cares if GOP loses Congress?

By Joe Scarborough

Who really cares if Republicans lose Congress? Certainly not GOP leaders in the US House.

As the Wall Street Journal reported, the Republican pigs running Congress are wasting more money than those big-spending Democrats ever did.

Last month's deficit was the highest ever. But while Rome burns, Republicans obsess over their earmarks.

Conservative Republicans. What an oxymoron.

There is nothing conservative about the party to which I once proudly belonged. Like millions, I am disgusted by my party and their leaders.

A handful of responsible adults still understand the need for reform. But don't tell that to GOP bulls who have been trying to spend money like drunken sailors since they were empowered by the Revolution of 1994.

Some revolution.

A decade later, Republicans have given America the biggest deficit ever. The biggest debt ever. The biggest trade gap ever. The highest spending increases ever. A 110% increase in the education bureaucracy. A 100% increase in the Justice bureaucracy. An 88% increase in the Department of HHS. More pork projects than ever before. More earmarks than ever before. More reckless spending projects than ever before. A bigger, more wasteful government than ever before.

Why the hell should conservatives work to put these whores back in their perches of power?

Could Nancy Pelosi's Congress be worse?

Not on the spending level, because George W. Bush would have the courage to veto her outrageous spending bills. Sadly, he has shown no such fortitude with his own party in charge.

It is disgusting. It is also a problem I diagnosed two years ago in my book. But Republicans weren't listening then and they won't listen now.

Bingo!

I say a zero vote in 2006. Then I'll review the improvements before I decide in 2008. If the R.P. doesn't get it's act together and return to conservative principles, it will NEVER get another vote from this guy.

I'm dead serious.

Don't sit it out. Vote for Conservatives, if the race is RINO vs. Lib, just skip it, but don't let your good Conservatives get voted out.

Good lord, do you think the troops in Iraq are being supported by giving away their homeland while they are serving in foreign lands? I sure don't.

That is a safe vote or non vote for you in beautiful Glendale. The Dems have it all there. How does one strike fear, without burning down the barn, that is the question.

maybe a Rat House would be a good thing. Two more years of Pubbie spending and inept leadership gets us nothing. And if the Rats win the House all they'll focus on is impeachment for two years.

The Pubs will have a lesson for generations of what happens when they govern the way they have. And the Rats will tie up all resources on impeachment and little else. Those who govern least govern best. [Flame away].

Sorry.

I refuse to give Scarborough the dignity of classifying himself as "one of us". He is no conservative. He's a Tucker sell out...minus the bowtie.

I've made my feelings about the Party known. I'm made it known I am severely disinclined to do anything to help them this fall. A few exceptions like Blackwell, Steele and Erlich? Sure, but they are the exception.

But Tucker encouraging me to let the majority fall? Well, when a RINO as he IS and a Conservative in his mind only seeks to tell me I should follow through and let the Majority sink, well, that has more influence than the Party boosters, some on this board, that seem to think I should always vote Rep..even if I'm not a Rep. Tends to make me want to re-consider my stance. Just to spite what the RINO wants.

Actually, let me see if I can reason the RINO's out. If the GOP Majority grows enough they'll ultimately lose power. The only question is how many it will take to make it happen. 60 Rep Senators? 65? 70? Once that happens they are out of power, as the Dems have been out of power. I'm aware of this.

Unfortunately I just don't see Reps making big gains in the fall, Liddy Dole's horrendous turn as Chair NOT helping AT ALL, which is why conservatives have been thinking to punish them by making the RINO's obsolete with minority status. After all, the Dems won't need them anymore if they are the majority. And maybe they'd become 'enlightened" and realize they can't screw conservatives without facing our "discipline". Since the party itself exercises none.

I'm becoming of a black/white mentality on this. Either everyone gets their butts in gear and makes a filibuster proof Majority happen, say, 65 seats in a stunning "upset", or let it fall. This inbetween stat with RINO's calling the shots is NOT acceptable. Except I don't see the committment of conservatives to making that Majority happen, not when they are backbiting a winnable seat in Florida.

Bill Clinton was an expert in portraying himself as a martyr. George Bush will not be able to do that if he is under an impeachment probe. He isn't that good an actor.

Scarborough is a numbskull. No one should listen to him.

"Lesser of two evils" is a sound reason for keeping the GOP in. This debate really should never have started. How can any Republican not understand how much worse the Rats are? Sheesh.

Well, I don't think you can. They've been getting letters by the ton so I don't think this is something new. They just don't give a rip about the working class Republican. Look, that's the way I see it. I'm sure many disagree.

For me, it's not even a matter of Greater Demon or Lesser Demon anymore.

Neither party represents what I or my family stand for.

Why should I vote for either of them???

Without the House Bush could actually be impeached but I still don't care. He won't be removed and the WOT will continue. The Rats will look like idiots impeaching him,

If the Dims get elected and impeach Bush, the circus tent will fall around their ears. It would be a delightful outcome.

What's Joe talking about? The Dems control the Senate, thanks to the RINOs there who have so much in common with them. And the House couldn't pass drilling in ANWAR because 21 REPUBLICANS blocked consideration of the bill. I recall Sensenbrenner (WI), Chas. Bass (NH), Jeb Bradley (NH), Sherwood Boehlert (NY), Nancy Johnson (NY) being so proud of their anti-oil vote. These states should pay $5/gal. for gas, or better, get none at all.
Incidentally, perhaps someone can explain why Fox reported that gas in Dallas is $3.09/gal and in St. Paul, MN it's $2.09. That's the thanks Texas drivers get for us shipping our oil all over the country. If our pretty governor, Rick Perry, can get out of the beauty shop maybe he could investigate a little price gouging in our late great state. Texans are getting royally screwed.

The problem of immigration did not begin in the last 5 years - You "sky is falling" types over immigration might be well intended but you are going off the deep end.

That you seemingly refuse to recognize that good people can come to differing solutions (in degree) on how to handle this complex (40 year in the making) problem is beyond me.

And yes, the WOT is more important then the sole issue of immigration. In terms of national security and our borders much more is happening on that front (in terms of WMDs, dirty bombs, etc) then is talked about or reported about.

Its not just Nancy Pelosi becoming Speaker, as horrible as that is. Crazy lefties like John Conyers become chairs of several committees. Then they will be asking Cindy Sheehan to give her "expert testimony" on foreign affairs.
