PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: President Bush will spend much of his day with Marines and sailors, attending church and joining them for lunch at the base in Twentynine Palms, CA.
Last night in Indian Wells, near Palm Springs, GWB helped pull in nearly $2 million for the RNC at the Toscana Country Club. Tomorrow, after a speech on immigration in Orange County, the President heads for Las Vegas and a fundraiser for Nevada Congressman Jon Porter. From the podium, the President mentioned dignitaries in attendance such as Dug Sundheim, California Republican Party chairman; Bruce McPherson, Secretary of State; Sen. Chuck Poochigan, R-Fresno, a candidate running unopposed in the June Republican Primary for Attorney General; Steve Poizner, running unopposed for the Republican nomination for Insurance Commissioner and U.S. Reps. Connie Mack, R-FL, and Mary Bono, R-Palm Springs, who happen to be dating but were seated at different tables. In his remarks, the President highlighted the War on Terror and how students need to be prepared for the future.
After his lunch and visit with the Twentynine Palms base Marines and sailors, GWB is expected to spend the rest of the weekend at an undisclosed location in Rancho Mirage.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: Over the past couple of days, the President spoke publicly on a number of issues -- too many to single out one quote. So I've linked to three important transcripts on the White House website. With these links at your disposal, you can read the transcripts at your convenience.
President Bush Discusses Advanced Transportation Technology in CaliforniaPresident Congratulates Iraqi Leadership on National Unity Government Agreement
Folks who have been following this presidency closely from the beginning know that President Bush has been trying to get Congress to pass a comprehensive energy bill ever since 2001. Here is a link to the President's Letter to the American People about his Advanced Energy Initiative, and a summary of the initiative. For those interested, the linked WhiteHouse.gov page also contains a link to download a .PDF copy of the complete Advanced Energy Initiative document. Other than cutting back on our driving and other uses of gasoline, we can't do much about the soaring costs of fuel in the short term. However, we can help the President ensure a more energy-secure future for us and our children and grandchildren. I urge all Dosers (active and lurking) to familarize themselves with the President's proposals, and to pressure your congressional representatives and senators to pass either the entire initiative or those portions of the proposals with which you agree.

So if I was a cop I be throw these bozo in Pokey if you know what I mean and I think you do LOL!
Grin...I think he would have said something like that. The Imperial Valley is probably a lot like the land where his Texas ranch is, but in Crawford they don't have the Santa Rosas on one side of the valley and the Chocolate Mountains on the other side.
BTW Redwood forest that most treachous bike path in SO CAL so Dubya is really expert rider to rise this path

Amen, oWf. God bless them all.
They are actually called The Chocolate Mountains?!
How cool a name that is!
Hi, Nord :)
I thought it was interesting, not freaky :)
LOL!
Lol! Yes, you were right, Mom ;) My real mother, however, was WAY off.
Hi NordP. Yep, if it weren't for the Dims...
My ex-husband hunts. During our years together, we went to most of the wild, out-of-the-way places, from Tulelake on the CA-OR border down to the Mexican border. In terms of natural beauty, there is no state in the union that offers the variety California does.
SO many places in the book I said to myself.........I want to be just like her! What a lady!
Oh..........and THANKS for this GREAT Sunday Dose!! Super pictures.......superbly presented!!
