If so then I'm sure he said his own equivalent of Wowza!:)Grin...I think he would have said something like that. The Imperial Valley is probably a lot like the land where his Texas ranch is, but in Crawford they don't have the Santa Rosas on one side of the valley and the Chocolate Mountains on the other side.

My ex-husband hunts. During our years together, we went to most of the wild, out-of-the-way places, from Tulelake on the CA-OR border down to the Mexican border. In terms of natural beauty, there is no state in the union that offers the variety California does.
