The Wall Street Journal editorial board and open borders elistists inside the Beltway have never worked a real job in their life. They have no clue.
"Rounding up and deporting 12 million people is nearly impossible and it certainaly will not happen before November."
Who said it had to happen overnight??? Getting rid of all of them won't be easy however 10-15-20 years from now once all privelages have been squashed and once employers learn that it doesn't pay to hire illegals the problem will take care of itself.
Put any color lipstick on the pig you want it is still amnesty
Instead of saying: "America is experiencing an energy crisis because the Democrats and environmental wackos have been preventing us from doing all within our power to become energy INDEPENDENT, our enemies are also using energy as a weapon against America. Therefore, in light of this and for the sake of our national security, I have today by Executive Order, ordered Anwar and other oil-rich areas including off shore drilling to be open to exploration and drilling. I have also ordered the building of a number of new oil refineries that are needed to refine the oil we now have and will have in the future. lastly, By Executive Order, for the sake of National Security, I am ordering the building of 20 new Nuclear Power plants that will help to augment and offset our nations need for energy."
That is what I want THIS president to say and do about the problem, otherwise gas is going to be $10 a gallon and we will all be reduced to ridding bicycles and horses to work.
But instead of the above; we will get: politics as usual and THE BIG LIE: "Vote for us because we are better than them."
I won't say Bush is a "terrible" president, but he certainly has been almost completely worthless to conservatives. What sucks the most is that we put him where he is.
And don't forget the Muslim illegals.. many Palestinians. New York and New Jersey are full of them.
As far as I can tell, Bush's "guest worker" (amnesty) plan has no provision to block them from getting citizenship, as well.
"administration's goal is to quietly make the current crisis go away without signifcant change in policy."
If this is true, then why was this thread started in the first place? Isn't this entire thread about Bush going to LA to give a speech on illegal immigration? How is that "quietly make the current crisis go away"?
"You will be responsible for the Democrats taking over power."
So be it.
With G.W. now I see no difference.
Long time Republican contributor - NO MORE!!
"By the way, I reported you for posting abuse given your prior post with a personal attack."
Fear is a terrible motivator. Your "personal attack" was merely a difference of opinion and in no way was it personal. As a practical matter, those who seek to destroy our country by dismantling it are hysterical "scardy cats"...nothing personal about that.
Grow up.
If we boot enough of them out of power, maybe, just maybe they will get the message: they are there to serve America and AMERICANS, NOT themselves and agents of foreign governments.
This administration must have had their antenna broken shortly after their second term began ... Harriet Miers, Katrina, immigration ... they've been stumbling around for the better part of two years now.
"9/11 is certain to be repeated thanks to President George W. Bush's unwillingness to close our border, and an immigration policy that has allowed 100,000 new legal Muslims immigrants to the US annually since 9-11."
That's a very good point. We face two problems - illegals from Mexico, who are primarily here for economic reasons, and Muslims immigrants, with even lesser skills who yearn for the U.S. to become an Islamic republic some day.
While much of the problem has been created by the likes of Ted Kennedy, Bush has shown little leadership on this issue. A big difference between Bush and Reagan (and there are many) is Bush's unwillingness or inability to communicate with the American people.
Quote me in context, please
I said that DHS and ICE have little or no time to dispel any suspicions of that nature.
And the last rule is to have point where you actually will walk away.
All this fear mongering about the WoT, Hillary, etc is just cover to enable the continuation of business as usual. What the 'bots don't realize is that none of this matters if the basic root-core of US society is so corrupted that it ceases to function as a sovereign nation.
For some reason, I never see any reference to Maslow's hierarchy of needs on these threads. While it's true that the WoT deals with basic survival as well, illegal immigration is the larger immediate threat - everything else, such as !Hillary!, et al, are further up the pyramid:
The crux of the matter is that Bush/Rove does not understand that there IS a crisis.
Don't forget the Dubai Ports Fiasco or this continuing energy mess. I forgot who said this, but I believe this to be very accurate; "This is the most politically tone deaf administration in all American History"!
Right on! If his executive power won't allow him to do those things himself, he can call for them early and often.
