If Laden belched and nobody aired it, would he be relevant? Al Jazeera should rethink their policy of airing his blatherings.

You said -- "Al Jazeera should rethink their policy of airing his blatherings."
Well, unfortunately, he's the "Pope of Islam" -- and those are the facts for the Islamic world. They adore him, so they're going to air him. No matter what you say, no matter how much not in our interests -- we're going to hear from him every time he belches.

If OBL is the most wanted man on the planet and he's still a free man, he has plenty of relevance. He's gotten the best of us since, at least, 2001. That's noteworthy. We aren't Lichtenstein or something. We are the freakin' USA. And we haven't nailed him. Quite an accomplishment.

Do they get ratings or is there any way of knowing how many people actually watch Al J.?
Are they really who they seem to be? If so, how do you think they can best be marginalized? As a poster alluded to above...Al J. seems to get tapes, "exclusives," etc. but we don't seem to be asking them any questions.
Something doesn't add up....IMHO.
