New Orleans Election
Of Interest, is that all the early votes have already been counted. This is different than in past elections. So the first group of numbers we see shall be a indication of what will transpire.
I shall moniter WWl, the Secretary of States office, and other media outlets. Anyone in the NOLA area please contribute. In my experience, the numbers come in quicker through the TV stations in NOLA than the Secretary of State's office.
The main people I will be reporting figures on are Nagin, Landrieu, Forman, Couhig, Wilson, Watson, Boulet.
THe polls have closed
So you will know who wins tonight?
I can't believe that New Orleans would re-elect that dufus Nagin, but with loony libs, anything is possible.
Someone posted a rumor that an exit poll had Landrieu securing a runoff slot, with a tight race among three candidates for the second berth. Of course, there may not be any exit polls, in which event the rumor would be bogus, unless it was a leak of the absentee count.
If landrieu wins does that help or hurt mary's re-election chances in 2008?
I could see it either way.
1. her borther helps stuff ballots for her in NO
2. blacks are angry her borther beat nagin and stay home in 2008
Can someone remind me the political affiliations of the candidates?
Thanks
To be honest, I have no idea. I think Nagin is in trouble. I think the black middle class has deserted Nagin. I think Mitch is its race between Nagin and Forman for second. A possibility (slim) but there that Couhig(Republican) might get second.
"...corrupt politicians"
Isn't that rather redundant?
All are Dems except Wilson and Couhig
that'll be settled in a back room later. now quit asking questions! ;)
I think Nagin is in trouble. I think the black middle class has deserted Nagin.
Well, that would sure be a kick in the chocolate, eh? ;-)
That's exactly the answer I was expecting!
I never bet against crime families, Landrieus, in corrupt democrat cities.
Forman switched from GOP to Dem last year. Wilson is GOP (and a nut; I watched a debate on video this morning), and Couhig is GOP. Nagin switched from GOP to Dem when he ran for mayor last time. Landrieu has been Dem since rocks cooled. Boulet is a Dem. Watson is the left black Dem.
That could be true. I just don't buy that Mitch Landrieu's that weak with the black vote as many say he is
THere is a lot of anger in the black community towards Nagin.
