Thank you for writing me about a possible blanket amnesty.
I appreciate hearing from you.
I do not support blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants. As
the daughter of a Russian immigrant, I understand the hope and the
optimism with which countless others view our country. I believe
America is rooted in a tradition of newcomers working hard and
building a better life for themselves and their families. We must
balance this tradition, however, with our ability to integrate new
immigrants into the American society that follow the proper
channels to legal immigration. Our ability to accept immigrants and
our immigration policy must support and strengthen families, create
economic opportunities, increase scientific and cultural resources,
and fulfill humanitarian commitments.
Again, thank you for writing to me. If you have any further
questions or comments on this or any other issue, please do not
hesitate to call my Washington, D.C. staff at (202) 224-3841.
Sincerely yours,
Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator

Good work
And let us not allow the opposing side to frame this argument in terms of race--that is certainly not what I am about.
It is also not a question of economics, although economically there is an element for discussion.
The issue IS National Security--and if our government cannot get their mind around that in view of what has been going on in the streets, then the republic is in danger...

Some have to try to stop the legislation and I'm counting on Cronyn, Kyl and Sessions to do their best.

I remember seeing somewhere that George Allen said he was against amnesty. So I don't think the above is up to date.

I'm afraid there's no point in my contacting my two senators, DeWhine and Rinovich. They're hopeless. And to think I worked on their campaigns because they were pro-life. I've decided they have too much other baggage for me to ever support them again.

It is true 12 million is a small percentage of the total population. The Hispanics here [I would assume citizens} are over 12% of the population now. They have passed the Blacks as the largest minority group.
The Black population isn't growing as a percentage of the population. The Hispanics, as a general rule have more children than the Whites or the Blacks.
IMHO I feel in time they will be the majority. Several years ago, before my husband died which is three years, the
Hispanics were 50% of the first grade in California. The number I see on the streets here, a small town in N,C.,as I see it,it will not be long until it will be the same
here.

I hope not, because Allen is one of only two that I think I could whole heartedly support!

Send them an e-mail regardless. They need to know they're not acting in our interests.

The issue IS National Security--and if our government cannot get their mind around that in view of what has been going on in the streets, then the republic is in danger............ No question, our republic is endangered by invaders marching in the streets waving foreign flags, preaching revolution, the overthrow of the US government, annexation of the borders state, and occupation by a foreign government.
There is a whole body of law to deal with that problem-----and it will be employed----when the time comes.

The poster told me the positions are not sealed in cement and that he didn't contact all of the senators --- that this list was compiled in early April and it hasn;t been updated.
I think George Allen's position is OK.

She and Boxer are disgraceful.
Diane enjoys a 'moderate' label that she doesn;t deserve and Boxer wins reelection with ease despite her obnoxious behavior. Disgusting.

I think it's inaccurate regarding George Allen.
I will pay close attention to him when congress returns.
