Ain't that easy, particularly when you know they are allowed to smack you around.

This is the CIA, not Wal-Mart!

If this thread is correct, and no such evidence exists, wouldn't that be psyops disinformation?

But Andrea Mitchell says that morale is "plummeting at the CIA" to historical lows. Oh, and the effect on the media is "suspiciously chilling". They can not face the music. This beeyotch was given the specific info and wording related to a nonexistent program and leaked it. That could be proved with an etch-a-sketch. The dims will demand to see the poly results while attempting to parse this as a whistle blower case. This foo-bird is singing, and the NYT et al are trying to get out in front with all of the bad news. Look for more ombudsmen, and "ignorant civilian" review boards. With the outing of the mole, there is a huge "who do you trust" issue. Best that charges are NOT announced for months.

Did you hear that gasoline is expensive, there is civil war in Iraq, and the bird flu has been found in Massachusetts?

Obviously the takeaway on this story is not the treasonous behaviour of this CIA employee; if the CIA rendition center story is a deliberate falsehood it is further proof that Bush lied.

"Hence, there's now some speculation elsewhere on the Internet that the "secret prisons" story originially began inside the CIA in an effort to identify leakers. McCarthy took the bait and leaked this false story to Dana Priest of the WashPost.

Which means that Priest's Pulitzer Prize is also completely bogus"

That was one of my first thoughts. Disinformation used to detect traitors. Is there a procedure in place to revoke a Pulitzer if the the "news story" is subsequently found to be false?

Mary McCarthy needs to do serious jail time. National security and the integrity of our Intelligence Agencies depend on our government having the balls to clean house.

Hillary has been quiet, too. Ahe was VERY outspoken on the leak subject. Most matters she leaves to someone else to do her bidding....but this one, she stepped into vigorously. There's your connection because all benefits from weakening the Repubs is meant to flow to Hillary. She gives the orders.

The story isn't totally false....It's how it was conveyed, i.e., something new that only Bush has done.

Condi addressed it. The system of transporting criminals has a real name and I believe it is within treaty agreements.

"I wish that they could also indict the reporter for receiving classified information."

I think they can indict. But that's not likely. They've already won a Pulitzer for disclosing the information to the public. Can't take that away from them, can we?

We are no longer a nation of law. We are a nation of who can control the most spin.

I would doubt this was a sting operation.

The story, as false as it might be, has done great harm to the US's reputation and now that the story is out there, there is no way to take it back. It will forever be part of left-wing lore and myth.

If they were going to pick an storyline for a sting operation, it would have been a more non-descript one.

In addition, this leak came out several months ago. Why did it take so long to grab her up. Even if they were monitoring her after the leak to see what else she was up to, they would have stopped it earlier given the harm the leak was doing.

wouldn't that be psyops disinformation?

That would be for the common people to try to figure out.

Don't you just like a good mystery?

Oh look, a democrat who sold their country up the river because she's mad Kerry didn't win -- what a trifling piece of crap she is! I think her acts are seditious along with the reporter and they should be tried for treason! For someone to put their country's national security at risk for some stupid press piece is just flat out disgraceful on both the CIA officer and the reporter. I'm praying this puts a burning spotlight on the extremes libs will go to smear our president and our country!

Well said! I like your post and agree with everything you say.

It couldn't be nondescript, or the WPost wouldn't have used it. You can't catch fish with cruddy bait.
