Protesters force Bush to move Stanford meeting President Bush's visit to Stanford University's Hoover Institution was quickly moved to another location after more than 1,000 protesters converged around the Hoover tower. The White House said the protesters blocked the only road into the central areaof the campus where Hoover is located, which forced a meeting with several Hoover fellows to be moved to the campus home of former Secretary of State George Shultz, a Hoover fellow who organized the gathering. The motorcade instead traveled to the house, which is on the outer edge of campus. The change in plans delayed the president's arrival by about 15 minutes. Protesters said they were disappointed that the President would not see them and accused the President of sneaking around to avoid them.

Protestors, AKA a lynch mob.
Wouldn't you expect that of the most secretive administration ever?!? /sarcasm
I know it's not really like this, but a person could think President Bush was running away from the protestors and afraid to hear their message.
The Libs are winning.

I don't know how he does it. They are relentless. I voted for Gore, but was appalled at his behavior in FL 2000 recount. THEN, when people protested the Inaugural, it infuriated me. They are consumed with hate.
OT: Greta Van Cistern is talking to President George HW Bush (& Barbara). Bush 41 was talking about Clinton. At first he said "predecessor," then corrected himself by saying "SUCK-cessor." He emphasized the "succ" part so much, it was kind of amusing.
California protesters greet Bush with calls for resignation

SAN JOSE More than 500 protesters beat drums and called for President Bush's resignation Friday as the president prepared to speak to Silicon Valley leaders at the sprawling Cisco Systems Inc. headquarters here.
Associated PressLacy MacAuley, at right with bullhorn, stands behind a row of protestors as President Bush visits Cisco Systems Inc. in San Jose on Friday. The San Francisco State University student says she is not happy with how Bush has handled the war in Iraq and other issues.Police restricted the demonstration to a few blocks from where the president was going to appear, meaning the motorcade would not see the colorful banners calling him everything from a criminal to a liar to a murderer.
The noisy but peaceful protesters said they were not discouraged and pressed to get their messages across as they took aim at everything from Indian health care funding cuts to the war in Iraq.
Ken's voice has been silenced, but mine hasn't, said Karen Meredith, a Mountain View woman whose son, Ken Ballard, was killed two years ago in Iraq. Today is a day we unwelcome Bush to San Jose.
Five Muslim protesters were cited during the demonstration for jaywalking after they kneeled down and prayed in the middle of a road. No arrests were reported.
Dan Moore took the afternoon off work from Cisco to join the demonstrators.
I just oppose the direction the president is taking the country, especially when America is supposed to be an economic leader, Moore said. He seems to be more focused on issues that drive fear into people when there are more important issues like the economy.
Friday's visit was Bush's fourth to Silicon Valley. Cisco CEO John Chambers is a Bush donor.
Hundreds more gathered for a protest later in the afternoon at Stanford University, where Bush had scheduled a private meeting at the conservative Hoover Institution with scholars, including Hoover fellow and former Secretary of State George P. Shultz.
Plans to hold the meeting on campus were scuttled when protesters blocked Bush's motorcade from going through the only entrance. Shultz, who was already hosting a private dinner for Bush later at his Palo Alto home, had the session moved to his two-story, gray-shingled house.
At least three people were arrested for sitting in an intersection during the demonstration, according to organizers. Stanford police couldn't immediately confirm the arrests.
President Bush is coming! (Counter-protest to support President Bush in Napa Valley)

Dear Fellow Republicans,
As you have probably heard, President Bush is coming to Napa County, very near to us!
As you have also probably heard, there are going to be many counter demonstrators out to harass him.
The Napa County Republican Party has organized a couple of rallies to show our opposition to his critics and to show our support for President Bush.
We received the following message from The Napa County Republicans:
Sonoma County Republican PartyPresident Bush is coming to Napa Valley this Friday evening! He will be staying at Meadowood Resort on Friday and leaving Saturday a.m. This is an exciting time to come out and show support for our president.
Supporters will be meeting at the intersection of DeerPark and Silverado Trail. Please park on Deer Park west of Silverado Trail. There is a fruit stand on that corner. We will meet Friday, starting at 4p.m.- 7 p.m.
We will be back there Saturday from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. (pray for sunshine). Please come out wearing red and white or blue. Please make supportive signs, come and have fun!
There will be protesters located about 1 mile away near the entrance to Meadowood. I have it on good word that there could be 2000-5000 protesters most wearing black - joining hands in a life chain in protest. We can join hands in support of our president! Please tell as many people as you can and come!
Blessings,
Debbie Dornaus

I would love to be a fly on the wall at Geo Schultz's house. I saw him talking about meeting George Bush with others before he even ran for president. I wonder if the change in direction in foreign policy came from Hoover.
these fifth columnists have so much hate for anything moral...
More deranged antics from the intolerant left. You rarely see these types of protests from Republicans, because we have businesses to run, jobs to go to, and taxes to pay!
It would be a hoot to see these moonbats try to get into Twentynine Palms.
The troops would like nothing better than mashed moonbat for lunch.
You can't have voted for Gore. All during the election, moronic lefties at DU told me that NOBODY who voted for Gore in 2000 would vote for Bush in 2004. lol
Good to hear about the supporters. There are several things I'm not happy with the President over, but he is a saint compared to how he is described by the Dems & media.
I also voted for Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, Clinton (& Gore). The day after Election Day 2000, I figured if Bush won, that was fine. Somehow, Gore's non-concession finally turned me off to the Dems (I had had increasing doubts since about the LA Riots, but ignored them). I happily voted for Bush in 2004.
Yeah, I thought that whole post-election circus might make people think less of Gore and Democrats. But since DUers think Gore won, they can't understand other people feeling that way.
That was pretty cool of Bush to venture into a toilet like Stanford for the benefit of a great man like George Shultz and a strong conservative organization like Hoover. Kudos to W.
The "protesters", of course, are a joke. I was in college during the Vietnam war and am well aware that these "protests" are 1% goofballs and 99% college kids looking for a party.
