Just breaking on Fox...

No details, but the agent was caught dead to rights leaking....

Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media

WASHINGTON — A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.

CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.

One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."

There is no such person, as a former CIA officer, once a CIA officer, always a CIA officer....bound by your (former) security clearance....

IG office probably would not be involved in that selection. I would think there are plenty of other 'Toon stooges' in the other directorates to take care of that.

OK, I have found a way (albeit a time-consuming one) to find the high-dollar contributions to the Democratic Party of Ohio from the opensecrets.org individual contributor search page.

Enter Democratic into the recipient field. Choose an individual state of residence of the donor (preferably not Ohio, in order to see who is donating to Ohio from other states) such as Maryland, click on Order the results by: Amount donated, then click on the Search button.

The results will show a mixture of recipients, for example the Democratic Congressional Campaign Cmte, but the high-dollar donations to the Democratic Party of Ohio are easy to spot in the list. The $5000 donation by Mary McCarthy shows up on the third page of results.

It isn't always apparent at first glance who some of these contributors may be connected to - for example, a $10,000 donation to the Democratic Party of Ohio from a Bethesda homemaker might raise some eyebrows (the same person also donated $10,000 to the Democratic Executive Cmte of Florida and another $10,000 to the Democratic Party of Pennsylvania and another $2500 to the Democratic Party of Virginia within the same week in August of 2004). It leaves you wondering whether (and how)that 'homemaker' is related to a 'national legal aid defense attorney' with the same last name and same zip code or another 'homemaker' with the same last name and zip code and with a similar first name who, between the two of them, contributed $125,000 to the DNC Services Corp and additional big bucks to a Who's Who of leftist pols and causes. But I digress...

A quick check of Virginia shows another self- or unemployed homemaker with a $10,000 donation to the Democratic Party of Ohio in October of 2004. So, I guess that the Democratic Party of Ohio (not the Kerry campaign, because collusion would not be allowed, would it?) must have made a very effective sales pitch to those DC-area homemakers to have raked in all of that cash...

Ah Of course. Should of thought of that. What I still want to know is WHO picked Joe Wilson to go to Niger? Seems that would be an important fact in this story. HE implied that he was sent by the VP but was always careful to never actually say directly who sent him, the VP has said flat out that is a lie. So just WHO is Joe Wilson working for?

I just ran across this and found it interesting. McCarthy's name pops up in a few places in the 9-11 Commission's report. I'll post it from this link since I don't want to scre around with the .pdf version.

16. Randy Moss interview (Feb. 6, 2004). In sending the draft MON to the CIA, the NSC's senior director for intelligence programs, Mary McCarthy, cited only the August 1998 and July 1999 MONs as relevant precedents-indicating that these new authorities were limited to using the capture and rendition approach. There was no indication that this MON authorized kill authority, although lethal force could be used in self-defense. See NSC memo, McCarthy to CIA, Dec. 1999.

"Mary McCarthy WASN'T in Operations.SORRY."

No, she was in the Inspector General's Office, where she probably signed off on Fitz's investigation of the Plame leak.

Lets keep this thread going as the Mother Thread of the McTraitor Threads with links to the other threads.

If there was a way to keep my thread open to reading and closed to addition comments with a link to this thread, I would ask the mods to do that.

I have to do some errands this afternoon, and we have a dinner party this evening. So I don't have time to battle the Bush Bashers who are blaming GW for this.

So is it possible to keep my thread up so people can read it and block any additions with a live link to this thread? It has served its purpose, and people are aware of this thread and Mary McTraitor being fired.

If people want more data or to comment, they can come to the Howlin's Mother Thread.

Efforts to limit attempts to eliminate the Colombian drug trade?

IIRC .. Rand Beers wasn't involved with the intell of drug war

You may be wrong, Mo. IIRC Beers was part of a suit brought in US courts by Columbian? farmers who were sprayed (on his orders) by herbicides.

For the group...

Why do you think Fitzgerald won't give Scooter Libby the CIA referral to the Justice Dept..

Could Mary McCarthy's name be on it?

This thing could go deep..

Wasn't there an article recently that claimed several former and current intel officals leaked something to a reporter.

It was Larry Johnson's groups of lunatics.

Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity

Ray Close, Princeton, NJ
David MacMichael, Linden, VA
Raymond McGovern, Arlington, VA

But McGovern, who now works in an inner-city outreach ministry in Washington, said officials who blow the whistle would be performing a higher service.

"It goes against the whole ethic of secrecy and going through channels, and going to the [inspector general]. It takes a courageous person to get by all that, and say, 'I've got a higher duty,'" he said.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,81148,00.html

AP: "The 25-member group, Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, composed mostly of former CIA analysts along with a few operational agents, is urging employees inside the intelligence agency to break the law and leak any information they have that could show the Bush administration is engineering the release of evidence to match its penchant for war."

I've seen more about the Rumsfeld v. Generals and Condi subpoenas than this and I've been on FNC most of the time. This is being squished by someone.
