Require people and companies to pay a self administered luxury tax on money paid to illegals. If you're caught with illegals and haven't paid the tax, your subject to tax evasion laws. Treat it like unrecorded drug dealing profits. If you paid the tax and are caught, you pay a fine and move on.

Just another cost of doing business, eh?

Better yet just close down any business found to be employing illegal aliens and allow their law abiding competitors to benefit from the additional business.

I think placing a bounty to report on companies who hire illegals would be a great approach. It could be managed and financed through private groups that have the financial backing to make the media here them. I know there are several groups who could manage it.

Federal investigators think a significant portion of those profits came on the backs of illegal immigrant workers recruited in Houston and bused to at least 26 plants across the country...

Unless this doofus, Robert Crowe is prepared to argue that the criminal illegals were dragged kicking and screaming onto buses to perform forced labor, his gratuitous marxist crap has no effect on me.

"On the backs of" is no longer an effective metaphor, unless perhaps I can borrow it for a second and suggest that the company's profits may have been earned "on the backs of' the American taxpayer...
What an empty phrase! No agenda here...

Something to consider...next time you hear the phrase "jobs Americans won't do" think "jobs Americans won't do don't need doing." It will change the perspective on the debate entirely...

A typical worker might make $9 to $14 an hour, Brindley added. Though IFCO officials could not be reached for comment Thursday , the family of one Houston employee, an illegal immigrant, said he was making about 25 to 35 cents per p

Please note, this (both figures) is above minimum wage in my state. And, this is a job I would do! Course, I'm not willing to move to Houston, I think they have their hands full of visitors!

This is window dressing, only an action taken with a great deal of fanfare (over 100 arrested!). However, in light of the Millions of people illegally in this country, I suspect it is meaningless unless it becomes a daily occurrence. The authorities will use this only as window dressing to show the public that they are doing something, kind of like capturing a few bales of pot once in a while to show how hard they are trying to enforce the laws.

We will know their true hearts and intent by their arrests over the long term.

One key question - are they publicizing this arrest in Mexico? If not, then they do not intend to try to deter the Mexican illegals from coming.

Envy and Jealousy need to be in the 10 commandments.

Those poor immigrant workers oppressed by capitalism are so oppressed that they are able to buy large homes in my middle class suburb.

And the white and black trash who are still renting and can't even make their SSI check stretch to pay the rent on time are certain that those lousy immigrants are "stealing" jobs that non-immigrants really DO want.

We can't have it both ways. Either these immigrants are profiting from coming here, or they're not. Arguing out of both sides on one's mouth is not very convincing.

Why wouldn't they simply set up a "maquiladora" operation on the Mexico side... I mean they are so close to the border, they could do the same thing legally.

This is a very complex organizational structure.
"HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2006--Reusable Container Company LLC, a subsidiary of IFCO SYSTEMS, announced today that it has completed the purchase of certain assets of the Reusable Plastic Container (RPC) Services Business of CHEP USA. Details of the transaction were not disclosed."

Stupid pubbies. This is a German chartered company, based in the Netherlands, with Swiss and Austrian financing. The little LLC's (Limited Liability Corp's) are untouchable. It cost ICE more in freakin manpower and gasoline than will EVER get recovered in fines. Nobody will be indicted, let alone prosecuted. The American public has been P0WN3D, with the explicit knowledge and support of congress. Someone please prove me wrong with a link showing the names, titles, and specific charges from the indictments.

Excerpt:

ICE agents arrest seven managers of nationwide pallet company and 1,187 of the firm's illegal alien employees in 26 states
Roughly 53 percent of the firm's employees during 2005 had invalid / mismatched Social Security numbers

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff; Julie L. Myers, Assistant Secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE); and Glenn T. Suddaby, United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York, today announced the results of a nationwide worksite enforcement operation targeting IFCO Systems North America, Inc. ("IFCO"), the largest pallet services company in the United States headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Yesterday, ICE agents arrested seven current and former manages of IFCO pursuant to criminal complaints issued in the Northern District of New York. All these individuals are charged with conspiring to transport, harbor, and encourage and induce illegal aliens to reside in the United States for commercial advantage and private financial gain, in violation of Title 8, USC Section 1324 (a). The conspiracy charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 for each alien with respect to whom the violation takes place. Two other IFCO employees were arrested on criminal charges relating to fraudulent documents.

In addition to the criminal arrests, ICE agents yesterday conducted "consent" searches or executed criminal search warrants at more than 40 IFCO plants and related locations in 26 states that resulted in the apprehension of approximately 1,187 illegal alien IFCO employees. Three of the criminal search warrants were executed at residences in Guilderland, NY, where IFCO was allegedly housing illegal alien employees.

There were pictures at that thread of coccaine being hidden within pallets; but ICE just upgraded their site and I don't know where they moved the pictures to yet.

All pallet recylcers use Mexican illegals (OK, there's that one on the West Side of Chicago that uses Lithuanians). The competitiors who just can't understand the success of this company are full of it.
