Summary: Islamist Watch combats the ideas and institutions of nonviolent, radical Islam in the United States and other Western countries. It exposes the far-reaching goals of Islamists, works to reduce their power, and seeks to strengthen moderate Muslims.

Daniel Pipes has just established a new tool in the War On Terror and against Islamofascism and radical Islam that may soon get its own website: Islamist Watch. As the website summary indicates, the goals are to combat the notion of the United States and the West being subject to the Sharia. We have to do more to defend our free way of life than to simply fight Islamofascist terrorists abroad; we have to fight those who seek to use our democratic processes and cultural pluralism to impose their radical ideology from within. So now we can monitor the nonviolent proponents of Al Qaeda doctrine here and check the Fifth Column threat that they pose to free societies.

The second is to identify and encourage the work of truly moderate Muslims who, working with non-Muslims, can help reduce the power of the Islamists. Moderate Muslims have several key roles: fighting the application of Islamic law (as in Ontario), engaging in undercover work (for example, the work of journalist Mazher Mahmood), gathering materials (such as those used in the Freedom House report on mosque literature), exposing Islamist writings (such as the work of Zuhdi Jasser), strengthening anti-Islamist efforts (for example, Ahmed Subhy Mansour's criticisms of the Islamic Society of Boston). Ultimately, anti-Islamist Muslims have the burden of coming up with a modern, moderate, and good-neighborly vision of Islam.

The Koran is Islam's play-book. Period. You do what it says or you are not really "Muslim".

All I need to know about Islam I learned on 9/11. And Iraq. And Iran. And Afghanistan. And ...

They can clean up their own back yard first before they can lay any claim whatsoever that some of them are "moderate".

What is there to "get"?

This is a very unpleasant truth for a lot of us, but it has been my stance for years, even before 9/11: There are over one BILLION Muslims on the planet. And they can't or won't stop a few thousand "extremists" because theses "extremists" are not extremists at all. They are MUSLIMS.

Let me put it this way: what if a Christian church decided to resort to homicide bombings? How long do you thing the church would allow this to continue? Not very ... and the outrage would be world-wide. Because suicide bombing and "jihad" and killing "infidels" i.e. non-Christians is NOT in the Bible. But killing non-Muslims IS in the Koran.

And Muslims practice this "religion" everywhere there are Muslims: Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan ...

Open your eyes. If Islam is truly a "moderate" "religion of peace" then Islam needs to clean up their own house NOW.
