I had mine made taller--the part on the bottom, that is. It was bugging me SO much, and when the guy raised it, it was MUCH better. Bifocals still goof up your peripheral vision...like when you're shopping--in hunting mode--and you want to see three isles at once, and you only can see what's directly in front of you....it's sooo limiting ;-)

My eye doctor told me it is usually difficult to switch from lined bifocals to the varilux and graduated lens. I never had the lined ones, but I love the graduated lenses. They work great for the computer at work because I stand all day and look down at the screen through the bottom part of the lens, But I need computer glasses for my home computer, or I get a neck ache from tilting my head back to look through the lower part of the lens.

Bottomline: The MAJORITY of people in this country LIKE President George W Bush and will listen to his message IF and when they actually 'hear' it. Unfortunately, the MSM (right and left) is working overtime to 'black out' and 'counter spin' the President, making it VERY difficult for him to communicate directly with the American people. This is why President Bush needs Tony Snow to be the next WH spokesman.
Continuing prayers for Tony and his family!

I had the "progressive" lenses first, and just couldn't handle them. That's what they say though...you either love 'em or hate 'em. You really need to try both.

I see these polls...and wonder if freepers are the only "fans" of George left??
Of course, that is a smaller percentage now than ever before, also....sigh.

Thanks for tonight's Dose, Gretchen. Love that first photo!

BTW, according to the link at the top of the thread, the Dow closed at a 6-year high...how many of the Has-been media have reported, let alone praised the president for this accomplishment!...or even giving him any credit at all!

I hope I never have to use them. I already have contacts. I got glasses when I was 13.

I don't remember if my mom wears glasses for the computer or not. I don't think she does.

I really liked the look of the smaller lenses and had the progressives put in those. The optometrist wasn't sure they could accomodate the progressives, but they actually were more comfortable than the bigger lenses I used to have even though the area to look through was much smaller. I usually take them off all together for really close artwork.

Thanks for the list of polling entities. Very illuminating in a stomach-turning way.
Why do we never hear about the poll responses to JA for congressmen and senators? /rhetorical ?

"LOL! I love the photo of the Prez pulling Hu back. I'll bet that one doesn't go on Chicom TV."
I like that one, too. How about a caption: Yo, Hu - is that Italian or Chinese silk ;-)
"And Mrs Hu -- what a sourpuss."
That's exactly what I was thinking! I was wondering if she was that way because she way nervous, felt she had to look dignified, or is always that way - - maybe a little of each.
Thanks for the great pics, GM!

18 more years :) I probably made my eyesight worse cuz I hated wearing my glasses so I almost never did. I wear my contacts every day but I didn't get those until I was 18.

I tried contacts, but my eyes just felt irritated and dry all the time, so now I just treat glasses like jewlry and get interesting frames. I do still have contacts, but only wear them for scuba diving. I'm pretty blind without the glasses.
