"Protesting for religious freedom -- what a nutcase!"

She is an idiot if she thinks this Admin cares more about religious freedom than economic policy.

The WH had a giant screen around the entrance, to block the huge protest on Penn Ave. God forbid we show Hu whta Free Speech means...

I must say that Bush has displayed more class in this regard than other world leaders. How many apologies has Bush received from world leaders when he shows up in Europ or S.America?

But that idiots plan was quite successful. I have no clue what the two leaders were talking about, all I heard about was her and what she had to say.

waiting for quote

Here it is http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/bw-wh/2006/apr/20/042005040.html
I didn't post the article as I'm not certain about if it's on the list or not. His best response IMO would have been to have simply kept his mouth shut rather than try to lessen her message which needed saying. BTW the protestor was a former Medical Doctor in China now living here.

Class is not the word I would have chosen. He basically apologized for this woman exercising free speech, right after giving Hu a lecture on free speech. Good one, Bush.

Does all that class include arresting the woman?

BTW, I found a Reuters article on this. The woman was chanting things like "President Bush, make him stop persecuting Falun Gong." Protesting for religious freedom -- what a nutcase!

That woman has likely seen more horror in her profession formerly living in China to do her a life time. The persons she was speaking of Falun Gong? Oh not much just some involuntary members {victims} of the China Nationalist organ donor program. She was a Medical Doctor in China before coming her. Nutcase? Pray tell what the hell would you do if you saw your own people done that way? Say thank you kind Sirs for overlooking this?

I have to wonder...the woman had a temporary pass...she spoke from a camera that was prominently displayed...and it happened right after Bush urged Hu to allow Chinese to have more freedom of speech...dare I hope that this could have been arranged beforehand?

Did the protester have a media pass?

Likely so and she is legit. Check your pings in a minute and I'll ping you to where I posted her limited BIO and the press agency she is associated with.

The woman had no business doing that. I hope she is fired.

He basically apologized for this woman exercising free speech,

Ignoring proticals, manners, civility, the goals of the President and the Administration in regards to China, entering the WH grounds under false pretenses (probably)and creating a disruption for her own pet causes cannot be excused under "Free Speech".

There is Free Speech and then there inappropriate behavior, which this performance was.

But to be honest, I am kinda glad she did what she did, screw the Chinese.

I hope she is fired.

If she is not fired the WH should take away the WH press pass for the organization that she works for.
