When I was doing research I found it interesting that the "Irish fairies" weren't cute & sweet (like our fairy tales)..
I recall my mom used to refer to a neighbor who "yelled like a banshee"! I assumed it was some wild animal, like a jackal?
Are you still going to DC now that the rally has been changed to Monday?

Walt Disney had a series of shows about Irish fairies on the old "Wonderful World of Disney" TV show.
It featured leprechauns and banshees. The banshee was a very bad omen.
I believe I am still going to D.C. next Monday. The situation has gotten very complicated. Instead of having the rally at 2 P.M. on Sunday, it is now at 10 A.M. on Monday, meaning I have to catch the Metro at 8 A.M. and fight the rush hour crowd. I also will have to leave on Sunday afternoon and rent a motel room. Instead of a 14 hour day trip I am looking at an over 24 hour endurance contest.
That really screwed everything up for me, big time.
Nine out of ten FReepers who were going won't be there. And only about 50 were going anyway.

Important Security Note regarding the US Military
There are support the military "forums" on the Internet
who are NOT USA based.
A word of caution when posting to foreign websites,
you never know who you are really posting to.
Check the domain registry and verify that the domain is in the USA
I made the mistake of posting on a non USA forum
and stopped once I found out the foreign origin of the website.

yes, I saw the thread from Kristinn re: time /day change. They want to NOT have two sep rallies & I don't blame them. Yes, Sundays on the Metro is much easier than Monday, for sure! You could just take a sleeping bag & sleep on the mall Sunday night!
