Bravo
And bravo again.
Whether you care for Michelle Malkin’s political positions or not, this crusade to try to intimidate her and her family—a crusade being waged by mostly anonymous cowards who no person in the blogosphere, left OR right, should encourage or countenance—is both disgraceful and, in the long run, dangerous. Not only that, but the pretext upon which it is based—the reprinting of a press release (which last I checked was INTENDED to be disseminated)—is so laughable as to be insulting to anyone with even a spark of electricity traveling across their grey matter.
So. I am now calling for the very public condemnation and ostracization of those who would post satellite photos and personal home phone numbers of a their political opponents on the web. I am alos calling for the public condemnation and ostracization of those hyperpartisan bloggers / media figures who condone or applaud such actions.
Consider this post a petition of sorts. And feel free to add your thoughts in the comments.
We have our moments and my language is not always the best, but I know for a fact, you'd never see such vulgarity and purile hate here.
In my time in the Navy I got to hear the vilest vulgarities for years ("swear like a sailor" as some people say), but I can't stand reading DU for even 5 minutes due to the pure hate. These are people who would torture puppies and kittens if it would even make GWB uncomfortable. Heck, they probably do anyways because they are sociopaths.
So I've been to that site probably a little better than a dozen times over the last 3 years, and each time I am BLOWN AWAY by the differences between F.R. and D.U.
From time to time. I do see stuff on F.R. that I don't approve of, -it's usually removed, -sometimes not. But the people that populate Democratic Underground are just rotten to the core... Post after post is hate, spite, lies, venom, malice and pure unbridled avarice.
When someone goes 'off' around here, other Freepers will calm them down or a mod will tell them to knock it off. -But bad behavior seems to be the order of the day over there.
I hate to be so simplistic, but it really does come down to Good Vs Evil. I am convinced of it.
I'm a proud Bush-bot and proud to be a Freeper. The posters of Democratic underground and the people behind it make me feel a little sad for Humanity. How could ANYONE be associated with that website and NOT realize that everything about it is anathema to decency, good taste and Honorable conduct?
I honestly don't get it... Are there "good" and decent" people that frequent DU on a regular basis? If so.. Aren't they repulsed by the slander, lies, swearing and personal attacking? "F" this "F" that?
I don't think there CAN be good and decent people on that site. -If there are, why do they roll in that muck?

The fun thing is that Maryland is a "may issue" state for carry permits, and as a rule, they don't issue. Here's part of their law, from packing.org:
. . . Has, based on the results of investigation, good and substantial reason to wear, carry, or transport a handgun, provided however, that the phrase "good and substantial reason" as used herein shall be deemed to include a finding that such permit is necessary as a reasonable precaution against apprehended danger.
It would be hilarious if the democratic untermensches helped get her a permit.
DU should be very worried about being shut down for that. I hope they are.
I doubt they would get shut down. CNN would probably take up the cause! But regarding the personal information (of the UCSC dudes), can't that be gleaned from any university phonebook?
