WASHINGTON - Immigration agents arrested seven executives and hundreds of employees of a manufacturer of crates and pallets Wednesday as part of a crackdown on employers of illegal workers.
Authorities raided offices and plants of IFCO Systems in at least eight states, the culmination of a yearlong criminal investigation, law enforcement officials said.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested seven current and former IFCO Systems managers on charges they conspired to transport, harbor and encourage illegal workers to reside in the United States for commercial advantage and private financial gain, said Glenn T. Suddaby, the chief federal prosecutor in Albany, N.Y., where some arrests were made.
ICE spokeswoman Jamie Zuieback confirmed an unspecified number of raids and arrests but declined to provide additional details because the investigation was continuing. One official, speaking on condition of anonymity because numbers were still being tallied, said the arrests were in the hundreds.
Raids across the U.S. Raids took place at several locations in upstate New York and in Biglerville, Pa.; Charlotte, N.C.; Cincinnati, Houston, Phoenix, Richmond, Va., and Westborough, Mass.
"ICE has no tolerance for corporate officers who harbor illegal aliens for their work force. Today's nationwide enforcement actions show how we will use all our investigative tools to bring these individuals to justice, no matter how large or small their company," said ICE chief Julie Myers.

Hire an illegal and go to jail.
Hmmm ignore the thousands at chicken plants frozen foods and cannerys...?
......then there are the rest of the employers: Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Macdonalds, Taco Bell, DellTaco, Target, Wal-mart, Construction Sites,Restaurants* ....... If the company is not union, you can believe they have illegal workers.
So, why investigate issue arrest warrants to hundreds of company owners at the same time; just get out the local phone book check alphabetically. No matter which one you chose of the millions in this country, all but two per
cent of them have illegal workers.
Betcha the illegals are turned loose to go to another company in the US, but if arrest warrants sent all at at the same time such as 10,000 in each state first of each month for six months straight, illegals will have no place to run but Mexico.
If the feds can and DO use the RICO Act to bust small businesses that innocently run afoul of some inane fed law, then why not agaist these big businesses and seize THEIR illegal profits off this crime?

Actually if the company is Union it is a almost a certainty that they do and that the union is fighting tooth and nail to prevent them from being fired.
Biglerville, Pa.;....Thank the Lord.
Pin a Medal on SOMEBODY!!!!
Hope it's the first of many companies to come!
ByeBye criminals!
Now secure the border and we can all calm down again.
P.S. ::hint....good way to boost your ratings in the polls.... we love it!!
Just so much hype to quite the restless natives, naught will come from this, the follow up results to story will be sound of crickets chirping.
"Finally somebody starts to get it. Let's hope executives from untold numbers of other companies recognize their chance to dump their illegals."
Dream on, so much puff fluff, no substance here.
too bad it was only hundreds... would have been nice if it were hundreds of thousands... even better... millions.
I could never get over 30 out of 88, but better average than ICE methinks.
Gives them something to think about though.
They do need to bust a household-name chicken processing plant next though. I know a truck driver who picks up at all of these chicken plants and he says they have all gone illegal because when one goes illegal they all need to so they can compete with the first one.
I'm sure there are lots of industries that follow the same course.
A couple more arrests like this and won't have to worry about deporting the illegals the jobs will dry up and so will the flood.
