Very possible. FNC just reported Nicole Wallace, WH Communications Director, is expected to leave soon as her new husband's job is in NY.

I nominate Mark Steyn for this position. He'll make the press cry.

I second that! Failing that (after all, he's a Canadian), I nominate David Brooks.

NO to Laura Ingraham--she gets hysterical when she disgrees with the President. Mark Levin would be more fun than anything and I'd love to have Hugh Hewitt there.

Yeah, Hugh Hewitt had Helen Thomas (PLEASE NO PHOTOS, FOR THE LOVE OF PETE!!) on his show, and she hung up on him. It was gold!

Tried Laura Ingraham?

Laura's fine, but she's not on 9-noon here.

"In fact, the press secretary should start a few press conferences by reading something in the papers and then showing how it's false. Start press conferences on the offensive when the public's attention is sharp."

I like this idea, but I have another idea. Have the press secretary read an old story put out by a media source and a contradictory story by the same media. Like all the stories during Clinton's admin of how bad Saddam was, and the same publishers stories of how good Saddam is now.

I agree that the press conferences should start off with this.

I liked Torie a lot, but Josh would have to insist that she hire a personal shopper to dress her each day. Her taste in clothing was AWFUL! but boy was she sharp!

Per Fox News: She's a candidate but not interested. Too bad.

Dems gleeing over this should be very worried. Rove has been unleashed so he can work at what he does best... and that can only mean one thing: Dems are knee-deep in crap.. Rove is gonna do a masterful rope-adope on them.

Mark Steyn would be great. So would Hugh Hewitt.

You know who I'd REALLY LOVE to see in the job? Jeff Gannon.

has anyone mentioned Krauthammer?

He's a parapalegic, so it's possible he wouldn't want to or be able to handle the physical strains of the job.

Scott McClellan did an outstanding job. His task, IMHO, was in certain ways harder than Ari's. Ari had certain freedoms that Scott did not have. But Scott did it, and he did it well.

From the bottom of my heart, Scott McClellan, thank you. I understood your task. Mission accomplished and very professionally done. May your relief be so great, and your joy be in more abundance than you ever imagined.

And yes, remembering certain events, and how they played out, I'm already howling with laughter with you.
