ON THE SHOW TODAY

Quagmire Accomplished

Six retired generals have called for Sec. Rumsfeld’s head. But the Commander-in-Chief has made it clear - he’s “the decider.” But it’s not over yet according to Richard Holbrooke who writes in the Washington Post that more generals will continue to come forward “until it consumes” Donald Rumsfeld. Who’s behind this mutiny? Tony has the latest.

Down With PC

Northern Kentucky University Professor Sally Jacobsen was ousted for leading a group of grad students to a grassy knoll near campus to destroy a bunch of white crosses. The crosses had been an anti-abortion demonstration and many were shocked that a college prof would attack free speech. Is this a bad moon rising for Campus PC Police?

Pain at the Pump

Summer’s around the corner. Iran’s President is mentally unstable. Price gauging questions are beginning to resurface… And the price at the pump is climbing with no relief in sight. Should Americans brace to pay more for a gallon of gas than they do for a cup of Joe at Starbucks?

Tony didn't leak the story -- and hasn't commented on the record.

Well if he takes the job he needs a bigger cussin' jar. A 5 gallon jar should do the trick.

Thanks for the streaming info. They just pulled Tony off the air on KTAR in Phoenix and put on some local has-been that talks about how hard the water is!

Keep A Low Profile

Read:
Psalm 34:11-22

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart. —Psalm 34:18

Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 6-8; Luke 15:1-10

cover The National Weather Service advises that if you're ever caught out in the open during a severe lightning storm, you should kneel down, bend forward, and put your hands on your knees. Then, if lightning strikes nearby, your body will be less likely to serve as a conductor. Maximum safety depends on keeping a low physical profile.

The same applies to Christians caught in life's storms—we must assume a low spiritual posture. This means we must humble ourselves before the Lord (Psalm 34:18), be-cause pride and rebellion can harden us. We must speak truthfully (v.13), depart from evil, do good, and seek peace (v.14). Our heavenly Father wants us to stay close to Him when our hearts are hurting so He can impart His renewing strength and healing love.

Yes, we'll get drenched in the driving rains of adversity, and sometimes its fierce winds will buffet us so severely that we'll almost be swept off our feet. With each blinding flash of lightning we may be strongly tempted to get up and run. But keeping a low spiritual profile of humility and fear of God is the surest and safest way to weather the storm. David assured us that those who trust God in life's storms will not be condemned (v.22). —Dennis De Haan

He that is down needs fear no fall,
He that is low, no pride;
He that is humble ever shall
Have God to be his guide. —Bunyan

God doesn't shield us from life's storms; He shelters us in life's storms.

Tony, there's talk afoot about you taking on the position of Press Secretary for President Bush. If so, please tell him the base is highly disappointed in many of his policy decisions lately. When candidates avoid being seen with the President, he has stepped into deep shite'!

Did you just dodge the issue or carefully suggest you aren't going to take the job?

I have great respect for Tony and believe he would do a good job that's in reality a very tough and often no win position.

Now the question is, how many Tony fans will still be singing his praises if the administration still has difficulty in communicating its message, poll numbers continue to sag and especially since the public face thrown to the wolves in news conferences is often left out of the loop on many things and has to fly by the seat of his or her pants.
