Not true. There was a long period during the Cold War where IBM had no presence in China at all.
I received my training in employee management from the IBM executive who opened their first modern office in Beijing the 1970s. He would never kowtow to the Chicoms the way Bill Gates does.
Well I'd like to know who was bigger in China at the time. One thing's for sure, he wouldn't be working for IBM in China now. Those two are as close as two can get.
