Excerpts -
Later [Hu] said to Gates: "I admire what you have achieved at Microsoft," Hu said. "Because you, Mr. Bill Gates, are a friend of China, I'm a friend of Microsoft," he said. "Also, I am dealing with the operating system produced by Microsoft every day," he added, amid laughter.
"I certainly look forward to the extension of your cooperation with China," Hu said. Hu also said he would certainly welcome a further increase in Microsoft's investment in China.
"I'd also like to take this opportunity to assure you, Bill Gates, that we will certainly our words in protecting intellectual property rights," Hu said. Gates responded: "Thank you, it's a fantastic relationship. And if you ever need advice on how to use Wkindows, I'll be glad to help."

As it was aptly noted on another thread: He prefers whores the tramps.
He does not appear to be a friend of the US.
IBM is the biggest US IT vendor in China, and has been forever. They have almost as many employees in China alone as Microsoft does in the entire world. Where's the outrage there?
AT&T
Not only does IBM have engineers and consultants in over 170 countries, it has existed overseas since the beginning of the 20th century (predating Communism)...
So, because it's been around there for nearly 100 years, of course it's going to be one of the biggest US companies there.
1D10T.
Hey I cut the same slack to IBM and MS, youre the one with the glaring double standard.. Rank condemnation of IBM on one hand and justifying MS by slapping IBM on the other..
LOL your hypocrisy knows no bounds apparently. Not only do you support IBM's sale of their entire PC manufacturing division to the Chicomm government, you even pimp those systems on FR. Even for purchase and use by the U.S. State Department!
"The Other Side of the US Lenovo Spy Probe - by Salo"

Hilarious, coming from the guy who runs the "open source" ping list here, considering my link shows 80% of the Chicomm government servers are running open source.
Expanded OSS thread troll report card for thread 1617490:
[ ] Stallman is a leftist
[X] Red Flag is the Communist chinese OS copied legally from Red Hat
[ ] Linus's father was a Communist and lived in Moscow
[ ] The DNC loves Linux
[ ] Communism.org likes Linux
[X] Somebody has sub-par English...
[X] IBM sold their PC division to the ChiComms.
[X] (IBM) has been kissing up to the Chinese for years
[X] 80% of ChiComm servers run open-source/Linux
Scoring system:
5) Do you need to see a doctor?
I said there are no pcs made in America of parts made in America, and also pointed out that Lenovo, the ChiCom-owned company, recommends Windows XP. Remember, FTFA you posted: Of the top 10 system builders in the US, eight have some component manufacture attributed specifically to ECS-Tatung, at Taiwanese corporation that only assembles exclusively in the PRC. Of the other two not represented by ECS-Tatung, Dell and Apple, Dell has a strong reliance on ASUStek -- another company that builds exclusively in the PRC.
Face it, MS is as bad as IBM (or worse, since they pre-date the ChiComs in China): you can no longer claim a) using linux is unpatriotic or b) using MS products is the patriotic thing to do.
PS, the article being discussed does not mention IBM at all - that's your re-direct.
Yet another slap at the fine fellow that runs this site, using LAMP. It would appear that JimRob is a communist for using Linux/Apache in the eyes of our own little troll. Guilt by association is a specialty of this particular troll.
Redirection is another specialty of this troll.
Just pointing out that IBM has much longer and deeper ties into China, since you of course don't want anyone to know. Their ties to foreign governments go all the way back to Nazi Germany.
As for Microsoft, their behavior is now deplorable too, but what other options are there? GIVE the Chicomms their software for free, like IBM and you open sourcers prefer to do? Forget it.
Umm.. how about --"No business with the Chicoms at all?"
Has there yet been any mention of "copyleftists?" LOL
I don't care if anyone knows - IBM is irrelevent to a discussion of Microsoft jumping further into bed with the ChiComs.
PS, you Godwinned. You lose. As usual.
'No business with the Chicomms at all' has been my position all along, and is EXACTLY why we always disagree, since your full time mission on here is open source, meaning all the free software the Chicomms could want.
Or are you now suddenly saying your position has gone from full time Linux pusher to finally realizing they take free copies of Red Hat and rename them "Red Flag"? All legal and free of charge of course.
I doubt it, since all you boys ever do is snicker every time it's pointed out, like there's something funny about it. Then try to bash Microsoft for selling software instead of just giving it away like you prefer.
Followed closely by comments like that. But chin up, you're gaining.
