"Massive transport card fraud uncovered"
19 May 2006
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "AMSTERDAM The Railway Police and Military Police at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport have arrested four people in connection with the forgery of OV public transport cards.
A group is suspected of selling hundreds of forged travel cards for a fraction of the face value. The fraud is estimated to have been worth hundreds of thousands of euros. A source told the media that the gang was made up of employees of Dutch airline KLM.
The fraud came to light on 20 April when a conductor of Dutch rail company NS caught a train passenger with one of the fake cards. The passenger and the middleman who sold the pass were arrested. Detectives then tracked down a second alleged middleman and a forger."
