CAPITALNEWS.org has a poll running regarding the boycott.
If you all haven't voted on that poll yet; you may want to pop
over there and do that.

Snip: NEW YORK (AP) A federal appeals court seemed to have little tolerance Monday for arguments that random police inspections of subway riders' bags violate their constitutional right to be free from unreasonable searches.
Three judges on a panel of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals did not immediately rule on the issue, but they repeatedly indicated that they did not share some of the conclusions offered by the New York Civil Liberties Union about the searches.
Terrorists' unmanned air force
Snippets: Unmanned air vehicles are another matter. They are small, cheap and you could buy one tomorrow. Short-range versions with video cameras are common, but thanks to GPS and Google Earth you can also put one to within a few yards of your aim point from long range. Very long range in 2003 a TAM-5 UAV with a six-foot wingspan was flown over 1880 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. One scenario features a mass drone attack launched from a tanker or freighter well out in international waters.
Already, there have been a number of terrorists using (or, at least, intending on using) UAVs. Bin Laden had a plan to assassinate President Bush at the G8 summit, the FARC in Colombia bought drones. Hezbollah flew a "Mirsad-1" drone over Israeli territory in 2004.
Mayday boycott - it's all about La Raza
Snippets: The Mexica Movement advises that it is determined to take back the entire North American continent for Chicanos and Chicanas and MEChA states in its Action 3 (from El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán): Self-Defense against the occupying forces [USA] of the oppressors [US citizens of European ancestry] at every school, every available man, woman, and child.
These groups are calling for La Raza militancy, typically leading to attempts at violent takeovers. This is their ultimate stated goal.

"Chicago teens joining beetle patrol"
May. 1, 2006 at 6:20PM
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Middle and high school students are being mobilized to search for tree-killing Asian long-horned beetles in the Chicago area.
The shiny 1- to 2-inch-long beetles have destroyed more than 1,500 trees since first arriving in the region in 1999, but none of the black insects with white dots and long black-and-white antennae have been spotted since an eradication program in 2003."
We must have been thinking along the same lines - I made oatmeal-raisin cookies. I bought two packages of bulbs (whatever they are, they're purple) and one package of rhubarb. Got home and researched those purple bulbs - it says they are a nifty dessert for deer (sigh!). That windmill sounds terrific.
Now, this sign is NOT nice:

I thought 1/3 of everything is dessert for deer.
Those bulbs will turn out pretty flowers.
Yep, it's still in the thought process, but it looks liks a go.
We'll see.
I haven't seen anything on that JP. Will keep looking for it though.

Our President defends them and they have no respect whatsoever for him or the rest of us. Utterly disgusting. IMHO the bearer of signs such as these should be arrested and deported immediately. Since when are anti-American activities acceptable on American soil?
I haven't been able to find an article about that JP.
Fyi.

"Suspected Hells Angel Stopped With Gun in Vancouver Airport"
The Hamilton Spectator (Ontario, Canada)
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A man believed to be a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle club has been arrested and charged after he tried to board a plane with a loaded gun.
The man was stopped by Vancouver International Airport screeners on Friday after screening devices showed what appeared to be a handgun in his carry-on luggage. RCMP found a fully loaded, semiautomatic handgun in the bag."

"Two Air Passengers Spread the Mumps"
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (Pennsylvania)
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Coffee, tea or contagion?
Over the past five weeks, the Midwest has experienced the nation's worst epidemic of mumps in almost 20 years. The first cases surfaced in Iowa, followed quickly by outbreaks in Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin. So far, nearly 1,000 people have been stricken, and at least nine required hospitalization.
Preliminary findings by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention traced the source of infection to two airline passengers who may have separately infected dozens of people on nine flights between March 26 and April 2."

"Cleveland Airport Shooter Had History of Violence"
THOMAS J. SHEERAN
Associated Press Writer
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A man who was shot and killed by a patrolman after authorities said he fired on another officer at an airport had a history of violence and drug abuse, according to his lawyer and court records.
Authorities said the man, identified by the coroner's office as 38-year-old Kenneth Callaway, bit an officer in the neck and grabbed his gun, using it to shoot another officer. The patrolmen were trying to subdue Callaway after he argued with employees at ticket counters Thursday at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, city Safety Director Martin Flask said.
A third officer arrived and killed Callaway."

"Canada Investigates Air India Bombing"
By BETH DUFF-BROWN Associated Press Writer
© 2006 The Associated Press
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "TORONTO The Canadian government on Monday launched a public inquiry into the 1985 bombing of an Air India flight that killed all 329 people on board in one of the world's deadliest terrorist strikes.
No one has ever been convicted in the attacks, although one man pleaded guilty to a peripheral role in a second bombing at Tokyo's Narita airport and was sentenced to five years in prison."
Snip: But you would have been wrong. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff announced Tuesday that only now will the federal government start comparing its watch list with port employee lists - well, not now, lest the agency move too precipitously, but this summer. It will also check employees against lists of illegal immigrants (raising the question of why, if the government has lists of illegal immigrants, their presence is not addressed).
This new step, while welcome, is incomplete. It leaves huge security holes through which those who wish to do us harm can, literally, drive a truck. Among the people who will not be checked against terrorist watch lists: the truck drivers who pick up and drop off containers. At the port of Hampton Roads, that's 1.1 million containers a year. Multiply that by all the nation's ports and that's a lot of opportunities for a terrorist or a sympathizer to find a way in. Nor will the checks cover rail workers or those with outside companies who have access to marine facilities.
Do you know the way to San Antonio?
Snip: It also means a labor market with jobs for just about every man and woman who wants one: residents, legal immigrants, and migrants without papers who paid a "coyote" $300 to swim them across the Rio Grande and hide them in the back of a truck for the three-hour drive north. San Antonio is a city that has reached an accommodation with its laborers and the legal status of its workers, and it's a family secret of sorts -- not one that's well kept. Undocumented laborers are a vital component of the city's workforce.
UK 145 hit and run deaths by illegals
Snippets: Meanwhile, as it emerged that rogue drivers are avoiding speeding tickets by using false addresses, officials were forced to admit that as many as 700,000 cars may be on the roads illegally because they are not properly registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency database.
Government figures also show that there are more than a million uninsured drivers on the roads, with many more using cars without a driving licence. Random police checks suggest the true number of uninsured drivers could be as high as five million. Uninsured drivers are 10 times more likely to drink and drive, six times more likely to drive an unsafe vehicle and three times more likely to drive without due care and attention.
