I just heard on the John Gibson radio program that Tony Snow has been offered McClellan's job at the White House. He has not made a decision but will discuss it on his radio program tomorrow.
I didn't see this posted. Just posting what I heard. No link.
I know this is the best choice. Tony Snow is very good. So good, I actually had to stop listening to him because he was too pro-Bush on the Amnesty. He made Rush Limbaugh look more like a centrist. I actually had to stop listening to Snow because he was pro-Bush no matter what. Definately a great choice for Bush. Dont get me wrong, normally I am also pro-Bush but one of my problems I have with Bush is Mclellen. He's terrible and hurting Bush more than he's helping. The sooner he goes the better. Tony Snow has a wonderful program, but his country needs him
Yipee if this is true!!
TAKE IT TONY - TAKE IT!!!!! We'll cheer you on every time we see you on TV behind the WH podium!!!!!
None of us can thank you enough for what you --and our brave troops-- did and are doing in Iraq. God bless you for your service. Americans owe you more than we can even begin to express.
(I do agree that Tony would be great with the WH press corps!)
Anyone would be better than Scott McClellan
I won't, it will be just between all of us in blogdom....Lol!
You can use this thread as your personal reference!!!
Yes, at the top of his show tonight.
So somebody leaked it to Lou Dobbs, but since nobody watches Lou Dobbs, there wasn't a thread?
Just don't take any crap from Gregory or the irresistably charming Miss Thomas.
Hey there.
I haven't been on the SNOW-Flake thread much lately either, due to WORK! But I will definitely tune in tomorrow and follow every word!
BTW how is the kitty?
I've gone back to watching Dobbs a lot lately and evidentally a lot of people are watching because pro-illegal immigration groups are trying to force CNN to fire him to shut him up.
That would be wonderful! Accept the job, Tony! Your proven ability to communicate calmly, clearly - and firmly -is just what is needed.
Who asked you??
Go TONY!!!!!!
yes, work calls but this is my EASTER vacation so I will definitely be tuning in tomorrow!
Kitty is doing much better. He even ran and played a little today! Huge milestone.
The NY Times confirms this story, though they just say Tony was talked to:
"Also on Tuesday, speculation increased that the White House was focusing on changing its press secretary, Scott McClellan. Officials have spoken with Tony Snow, a commentator for Fox News and a former speechwriter for the president's father, to see if he would be interested in the job, said two people with knowledge of the discussion who were granted anonymity so they could speak freely about a matter the White House did not want to be publicly known.
One of them said Mr. Snow had been contacted very recently about the job, and both said they did not believe Mr. Snow was the only person the White House was considering.
Republicans have been speculating about potential successors, including Rob Nichols, the former Treasury spokesman, and Victoria Clarke, the former Pentagon spokeswoman. Mr. McClellan has refused to comment about his plans."
A lefty site, Newshounds, had this to say about another FNC person:
"The Financial Times says that Dan Senor, a Fox News "contributor," is in the running to replace White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan. Senor is the former spokesperson for L. Paul Bremer and the "Coalition Provisional Authority" and ten days ago he married Campbell Brown, an up-and-coming reader at NBC."
They also say CNN reporter Suzanne Malveaux said today (Tuesday) the WH "reached out" to Snow about the job.
This is not something that was leaked by Gibson, apparently. It already was out there.
Wow...weird...
On FR we have speculated that Dan Senor might be in the running...and I was pushing for Tori Clark...but, I never even thought that they might ask Tony...
