Tony Snow offered White House Job
Heard on the John Gibson radio program

Posted on 04/18/2006 5:48:13 PM PDT by yellowdoghunter

I just heard on the John Gibson radio program that Tony Snow has been offered McClellan's job at the White House. He has not made a decision but will discuss it on his radio program tomorrow.

I didn't see this posted. Just posting what I heard. No link.

The actual tests are next week but I have many papers to finalize, presentations to tape, etc....very busy time of the semester.

I think it would be wonderful if Tony took this job.

I would subscribe to the WH daily briefings on PPV if either of them replace Scott, which might offset any pay cuts they might have to endure......
There are a few good possibilities. Snow would be great, and I can comfort myself that Rumsfeld already gets opportunities aplenty to verbally (deservedly) smack the press around.

Tony would be tough, but he would always be professional and polite.

If true, it must mean his long-term cancer recovery prognosis is very good.

A President with a elongated occupation of a land for which Americans hold little regard. A public that has only the attention span suitable for weekly one hour episodes of American Idol.

Can the vision you now hold in maturity be communicated through the confines of the job restraints?

I know your country is important and your skills are now honed -- but can your family stand the pay cut?

The only thing that I know is that you could sell that conservative vision of our country like few others can if the actions of the administration will let you do it.

Our best wishes to you.

Look man, here it is; You are exactly what the President needs right now. You know your stuff, and you are almost as pretty as I am. You know how to stay calm in a fight and keep your wits about you. You will have Helen Thomas eating out of your hand the first time you wink one of those baby blues at her. If that doesn't work, just kick her in the shins and move to the next questioner.

I join my fellow FReepers in urging you to take the job, if only to increase C-Span ratings in the short term. I've got a crisp $100.00 for you, the first time you make David Gregory squeal like a girl.

Well...I think that Tony should put his "money where his mouth is"....LOL

Tony, you always have a LOT of advice for the Bush and his administration...and this sounds like the way for YOU to show them how it is done....

LOL! I think Tony's big concern would be the time factor...

he was JUST talking about having the time to be with his family.....

I think Tony could serve our country well, but I also think that Tony loves being available to his family...

I am praying for him, and I know he will do the right thing..

Praying for you, Tony. Got to be one of the toughest decisions of your life, but Our Dear Lord is right at your shoulder ... He will provide your answers and right direction.

It surely would take your incredible insight and expertise out of '06 AND '08, and that would be a loss. You would be a fantastic voice for the White House, and I also imagine the travel obligations would be challenging. But, when you add up the columns of pro and con, I'm imagining that, other than a call to the clergy, there can't be a greater call to service than one from the President, and if it's meant to be, that's the call you'll hear in your heart.

Whoooooaaaa! Thanks for the ping mo.

Tony, friend, I'm praying for you. And will support any decision you make because I know you are making it prayerfully and with careful consideration of all factors too.

Here's a thought. Maybe if the actual press secretary job doesn't seem to be the ticket, you could hire yourself out as a consultant. :^)

Seriously, you'd be a great asset to the WH. God knows they need help with communications...
