A peaceful school-sanctioned protest march in support of illegal immigrants turned ugly Monday when students from Santa Barbara High pelted the home of an elderly couple with rocks and eggs.

The incident took place at the home of Joel and Eloise Gomez on East Canon Perdido Street after the couple exchanged words with some of the 300 or so students making their way back to campus, about one block away.

"This state used to be Mexico," he said.

Really? When? When what is now Mexico and what is now California belonged to Spain? So what the kid is missing and should have said is: "This state and Mexico used to all be part of Spain."

"We can't make it illegal for them to be here."

Yes "we" can, just as Mexico made it "illegal" for Spain to continue laying claim to Mexico. America did the same with the land now in what is called California. Mexico-independent-of-Spain did not preceed California did it? Am I mistaken? (embarassed that this multi-generation California native with relatives who still reside on Spanish land grant property that was given to them by the King of Spain isn't as clear on this as she should be!)

If this was a school sanctioned event, then the elderly folks should sue the school for damages.

The official year of the independence of Mexico from Spain was 1821. California was ceded to the United States in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildago (ending the Mexican War) on 2 Feb 1848, so there's a few years when California was part of Mexico rather than Spain.

The school should be closed, the principal and teachers organizing this event fired.

This is just plan WRONG. Not only should this elderly couple sue, so should the parents of children who attend this school.

This is NOT what we send children to school for. We send them to learn to read, write, arithmetic, and to learn FACTUAL American history, not the political view of some screwed up leftist-marxists, and the false history of illegal immigrants too stupid to even know who and what they are.

Just who do these mexicans think they are?They have NO stake in this country and have NO right to protest.I hope the next time these mexican criminals show their arrogance it will with be with people that can lash out at them and are not 70 years old.

And at that time, there was nothing in California, nor were any of these so called Mexicans. California was built to what it is today by Americans. We turned an empty, dry, dusty wasteland of nothing into something.

California and everything in it does NOT, and never has belonged to Mexicans who have never lived on these lands.

Somebody is logic-challenged. If it is a violent protest, by definition it cannot be "peaceful protest".

Then again, if these Mexicans want California, maybe it would be ok as long as they take all the leftist moonbats, it's 100's of billions of dollars of debt, and it's share of the trillions of $$ of national debt.

Just out of curiousity; what would you call the people that lived on the Spanish land grants given by the King of Spain after Mexico's independence and before the treaty of Guadalupe Hildago in what is now California? 27 years (roughly a generation)of non entities?

I would agree as long as we can keep the ports (of course we'd have to get Long Beach back form the Chinese) as we'll be needing those.

Another touching story about those Norman Rockwell Children called anchor brats most likely or possibly just punks who are taught well by their criminal socialist parents!

Over the years I can remember several times when citizens of certain parts of California wanted to secede and become a new state. I remember times when some of them wanted to split off and become a new country. I would be grateful if someone could think of a GOOD reason they were not allowed to go when they wanted to. Failing that, does anyone know how to motivate the San Andreas Fault into action?

If they were under the supervision of the school at the time, I'd say this couple has a good case.

Sue, sue, sue!!!!!!

I agree with you totally. In fact, I think the victims should sue each and every teacher and administrator from the school individually for their negligence.

I am sick and tired of the illegal immigration issue. It shouldnt exist-period. I guess I am going to rant here a little, and blow off some steam. The fact of the matter is, this issue should be called by its real name:

A multi-front Socialist attempt at ethnic cleansing under the guise of a civil rights movement.

Consider this quote from Jose Gutierrez, founder of LA Raza ( the race)(and the pathetic source).

When you read the quote, it makes it real clear what he double speak chants from mecha, lulac, and La Raza are saying:

Quote 1:

Jose Angel Gutierrez

A former judge for Zavala County, Texas. Established the militant La Raza Unida (“the Unified Race”), an association dedicated to the belief that the Southwest does not rightfully belong to the U.S.

Once said, “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him.” Gutierrez teaches political science at the University of Texas, Arlington

End Quote

What we have here folks, quite simply, is the beginning of a campaign to ethnically cleanse the United States. That is a conspiracy to commit crimes against humanity under The Rome Statute, Article 7.

Here is the text:

Rome Statute, Article 7- Crimes against Humanity:

For the purpose of this Statute, "crime against humanity" means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack[5]:
(a) Murder;
(b) Extermination;
(c) Enslavement;
(d) Deportation or forcible transfer of population;
(e) Imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental rules of international law;
(f) Torture;
(g) Rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity;
(h) Persecution against any identifiable group or collectivity on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender as defined in paragraph 3, or other grounds that are universally recognized as impermissible under international law, in connection with any act referred to in this paragraph or any crime within the jurisdiction of the Court;
(i) Enforced disappearance of persons;
(j) The crime of apartheid;
(k) Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.

So given all these facts, why are our elected officials, various moonbats, and others promoting Illegal Immigration? Why are we standing for this, and allowing this to happen? Why arent we out there demanding that the elected officials in this country end this farce before it becomes a serious life or death issue for our country?

Thanks a heap! I live only a handful of miles from the San Andreas fault. In our old house, we had thousands and thousands of dollars damage and it was only a minor fault centered in (actually) Reseda. I woke up in the air at 4:30am that morning. I don't even want to speculate what a San Andreas temblor might do!

Ah, if only one of these residents had but a month to live, and decided to retaliate with "00" buckshot at these punks.
