The fateful hour has arrived
Jewish World Review ^ | 17 April 2006 | Caroline B. Glick

This week Iran presented the US with the ultimate challenge and Washington must now make a decision. Is it fighting to win?

Since the September 11 jihadist attacks on the US mainland, President George W. Bush has stated repeatedly that the greatest threat to global security is the specter of rogue regimes and terror groups acquiring weapons of mass destruction. At his January 2002 State of the Union address, the president declared that the regimes of Iran, North Korea and Iraq comprised an axis of evil and a central goal — indeed the most crucial goal — of the US-led war was to prevent them from acquiring or maintaining arsenals of weapons of mass destruction.

......................

This week Teheran threw down the gauntlet. The greatest battle of this war - the battle to prevent the world's most dangerous regime from attaining the most dangerous weapons known to man — has begun. The moment has arrived for President George W. Bush to make clear if he is, in the final analysis, the leader of the free world or its undertaker.

My fear is that we may already be too late.

That is my fear also based on previous information that Ukranian nukes have found their way to Iran.

IMO, action regarding Iran is a "go." Some of its neighbors don't like it, but they'll accept it.

Writing on the wall for Iran [Even the UAE and China agree.]

I'm sorry, but the Jews are crying wolf all the while they (American Jews) have been feeding the wolf bits of our flesh by consistently and doggedly being pro-liberal.....I say wait until Iran makes the first move and then retaliate, massively....

It looks like war with Iran, and Iran wants it. They have withdrawn their gold resources from all of their European financial institutions. This is a sure sign if ever there was one.

And Dubyah won't wait until after the November elections either. Events are quickly overtaking him, and we will likely be at war with Iran within the next month , if not sooner, unless some last minute intervention takes place to stand the Iranians down. North Korea is about to take a swipe at the USA and its allies too, likely at the same time.

Many said the same thing in 1939. I do not believe they are crying wolf, they have nothing to gain by it. I wish you were right though!

You're representing your State? I'll take on your neo-Nazi canard.

About 30% of Jewish people voted for President Bush, and about as many Catholics voted Republican in many past elections. Thank goodness, about half of Catholics finally voted Republican in the last Election.

Where you wrote, "I say wait until Iran makes the first move and then retaliate, massively....," why don't you just come out and say it the way your buddy, Ahmadinejad did?

And what about the following?

New Iran missiles can reach London

(old news)

Why would a genocidal Islamist tyrant really launch nukes against a country with a good anti-ballistic missile defense, when he'll more likely launch against a country without it?

I don't see the Bush Admin having the political capital, or the backing of enough of the nation, to do anything regarding Iran. Thanks to the treasonous left, alot of Americans are already tired of the War on Terror and just want it to end. I get the feeling that those who do support the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan do so grudgingly, and would not be at all supportive of going into Iran as well.

Most Americans have very short memories. The only way I see enough of the country getting on board with action against Iran is if there were to be another major strike against us. This is only my opinion.

Would you really like to take a chance on Iran destroying western Europe just to see the Jews in Israel exterminated? ...not to mention the cities on our east coast (which, admittedly, would make our communist Democrat and fascist third parties smaller), given Iran's Shahab-6 development intents.

Iran, Syria, and Hamas must be taken down. They should carpet bomb the Gaza Strip until those little bast$$#%s beg for mercy and denounce Allah. Iran needs a good kick in the teeth and Syria is a punk easily decapitated. Talks are worthless and a waste of time. These people only understand force, and nothing short of military action will change their minds about us or Israel belonging on this Earth unless we are under its surface.

Opinion understood. Of course, none of us will know for sure until after it happens or not.

There's also the consideration of our troops in Iraq, though.

Years ago, there was a report with photos, that Iran had about 6 land mobile ICBMs purchased from the old Soviet Union with technicians. There is no reason to believe that they aren't still there. Are they operational, I have no idea.

I'm just saying this because of what Iraq has taught all of us. Militarily, we are certainly doing a great job in Iraq. It is public opinion that is killing us.

At least we had the support of a majority of the country when we first went into Iraq. This would not be the case with Iran. If we were to go into Iran, the public outcry would be unprecedented. And unlike with Iraq, when we had the backing and support of numerous other countries (regardless of what the MSM says), this time we would definitely be going it alone.

With Russia, China, Pakistan, et al being complicit in the arming of our enemy Iran with nuclear weaponry, and standing hand in hand against us in the security council, I see the cards have been shuffled, dealt, and the first bid is but a breath away.

DAMN THEM, DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!

Iran may strike US forces in the Gulf, maybe with a boat carrying a suicide bomb. I hope its not a nuke.
