May 1st-National Labor Boycott Planned [Activists: No guest worker program - only full amnesty!]

Friends, it is Thursday night and I just finished watching the news broadcast of AZTECA AMERICA on cable channel 9. This broadcast is out of Los Angeles and the mother company is out of Mexico. They only communicate with their viewers in Spanish. I can understand every broadcast because I am bilingual.

Here are the highlights:

1.) The hosts and the activists interviewed are planning a national labor boycott on May 1st. The recent massive national rallies have motivated these activists to force an economic shutdown of our country. Alejandro Murrieta said the following in an interview, “We want total amnesty!! We will use economic pressure to accomplish this goal. Nothing less. No guest worker program- only full amnesty!”

2.) Univision, based in Los Angeles, sent an e-mail to its assorted radio and station managers warning them not to incite massive rallies on May 1st. AZTECA and Univision are fierce competitors for the Spanish speaking audience in the United State. What is the point? Azteca America is rallying their viewers for a national labor boycott on May 1st.

3.) Viewers were encouraged not to go to school or work. Over and over, they claimed if “we do not speak out, we will not advance.”

Commentary and questions to ponder:

How is this debate improved by intentionally inflicting a form of economic terrorism against the citizens of the United States through mass rallies?

We are reaching a point where the extreme elements, on both sides of this issue, could plunge us into a civil war grounded in massive civil disobedience.

The American Labor movement and the Democrats are intentionally turning this into a race issue by inciting the Hispanic immigrant community against “them.”

On border security issues, President George W. Bush has no spine. He has failed us over and over again as this mass exodus from Mexico and South America continues. We are to blame for allowing this immigration problem to continue.

It is our party that has not dealt with border security since 9/11 since we are so divided on this issue. We run the show in Washington. It is that simple.

It is now time for real leadership. Step up and get something accomplished. Protect our borders and enforce our laws. This is the time to act.

President Bush vowed to protect this nation and it is now time to hold him accountable.

You're doing all you can do, and so am I. I'm not going to lose any sleep over the fact that I'm not going to get in someone's face at a rally on May 1st. What does she want us to do? Harm people? Let others harm us? Yeesh.

I hate those "holier than thou" types who think their actions alone will change an issue and then admonish others while they don't know a single thing about their situations. Annoys me to no end, as you can see, LOL! Luckily, she looks the fool berating a disabled woman and a vet for not being "Americans" or having enough "backbone." Speaks volumes to me about her mindset.

Keep fighting The Good Fight in your own ways and with the resources you have available to you.

I'm still FUMING, so I'm going out to the garden right now and bust up some soil with my hoe to get it out of my system. See? One CAN channel their anger over something in an appropriate manner. ;)

That wasn't rude? Did I call you a name? And it was completely called for. You are shaking in your boots about what criminals and thugs will do to you if you show patriotism Thank you for your services in the Armed Forces. My son is a Marine. That said, I still stand by what I wrote.

I did not say anything about you going to a rally. You saying that you were frightened to put on a sticker on your car. That pi$$ed me off. And you are a vet?

Kimberly, I'm sorry that you have health problems. I was on a cane and walker for two years before I had hip surgeries. But you know we had people on walkers, crutches, wheelchairs and on oxygen at our rally.

Calling, e-mailing, faxing? How's that working out for you? Getting any good laws passed? We were marching outside the capital in Atlanta when our Gov. signed our immigration bill. WOW.

Come on down to Gwinnett County, Ga. Or anywhere in North Ga. I can show you any illegal stuff here as you have in your state. Maybe you can find my little cow town. It's called Atlanta.

I did not ask either of you to go to a counter rally on May 1. Just get enough BACKBONE to put a bumper sticker on. Or maybe the American flag. Who looks like a fool now? Apologize? Don't think so. You're the one calling names. And you are the one that said you hated people like me. Really? You know me? I thought we were on the same side.

As for as getting the Admin. onto me because I disagreed with you, fine, go for it. I would never have thought to have brought them in. There was no name calling or swearing. But I guess that's the way you handle it when someone disagrees. Sad.

Good, I'm glad I pi$$ed you off. Maybe now you will put on that bumper sticker just to show me.

You are misdirecting your anger at illegals at the two of us. That's nuts. Good day. :)

My anger was that any AMERICAN would be frightened in her own country to display something that she wished to have displayed. Where will thoughts and actions like that get us? Maybe I'm just angry that our government has let it come to this.

I hope that both of you will someday once again feel safe in your own hometown but I fear that day will be a long time coming, if ever. Good day to you.
