Friends, it is Thursday night and I just finished watching the news broadcast of AZTECA AMERICA on cable channel 9. This broadcast is out of Los Angeles and the mother company is out of Mexico. They only communicate with their viewers in Spanish. I can understand every broadcast because I am bilingual.
Here are the highlights:
1.) The hosts and the activists interviewed are planning a national labor boycott on May 1st. The recent massive national rallies have motivated these activists to force an economic shutdown of our country. Alejandro Murrieta said the following in an interview, We want total amnesty!! We will use economic pressure to accomplish this goal. Nothing less. No guest worker program- only full amnesty!
2.) Univision, based in Los Angeles, sent an e-mail to its assorted radio and station managers warning them not to incite massive rallies on May 1st. AZTECA and Univision are fierce competitors for the Spanish speaking audience in the United State. What is the point? Azteca America is rallying their viewers for a national labor boycott on May 1st.
3.) Viewers were encouraged not to go to school or work. Over and over, they claimed if we do not speak out, we will not advance.
Commentary and questions to ponder:
How is this debate improved by intentionally inflicting a form of economic terrorism against the citizens of the United States through mass rallies?
We are reaching a point where the extreme elements, on both sides of this issue, could plunge us into a civil war grounded in massive civil disobedience.
The American Labor movement and the Democrats are intentionally turning this into a race issue by inciting the Hispanic immigrant community against them.
On border security issues, President George W. Bush has no spine. He has failed us over and over again as this mass exodus from Mexico and South America continues. We are to blame for allowing this immigration problem to continue.
It is our party that has not dealt with border security since 9/11 since we are so divided on this issue. We run the show in Washington. It is that simple.
It is now time for real leadership. Step up and get something accomplished. Protect our borders and enforce our laws. This is the time to act.
President Bush vowed to protect this nation and it is now time to hold him accountable.
Here's my own little boycott:
NOTHING Mexican will be purchased.
No travel there or near there.
No more "mexican" meals of any kind. NOt from grocery store or restaurant of any kind.
Support of the minutemen in any way possible. Money, chalk, or marbles.....
"truckers at the Port Los Angeles and the cab drivers at LAX who will strike and shut down ( totally shut down ) the Port of Los Angeles and LAX before, on and after May Day."
The Unions are going to love that!"
IF all these jobs are Union jobs, then this will be an ILLEGAL STRIKE, and the court can monetarily sanction the unions real quick.
Any employer who does not go after them in court is missing a spine.
I wouldn't say Mexicans are Anglo. Some with the more "pure"Spanish heritage could be in that category but most Mexicans have enough Indian blood to take them out of the Anglo mix.
Most Latinos I know would bristle at being labeled as Anglo, even the ones that might fit that description.
"Granted, we are far outnumbered, but I've personally been fearful of even placing an anti-amnesty bumper sticker on my car for fear of retaliation, especially with the national growth of MS13."
I won't do it, either. During the 2004 Presidential Campaign, the socialists in Madistan, WI (Madison) keyed my car and scratched off my Bush/Cheney bumpersticker. And THAT was just done by a lazy, smelly Hippy out roaming around while I was working to pay his way in this world.
An MS13 creep (we have them here, too, but mainly in Milwaukee) would love to use your car (with you in it) for target practice.
Be safe.
Now, the ball is in our court. So what will happen if we don't give them full amnesty? Will they go home?
I wish..

Mexican TV ping.
Race is a very touchy subject, but a quick check of my assumptions on Wikipedia results in: Humans can fall into one of five races: Australoid (aborigine), Capoid (Bushman), Caucasoid (whitey), Mongoloid (oriental), Negroid (blacks). I think my daughter's teacher told her the same thing. Of course all mixed marriages result in mixed race. But neither Mexicans nor Native Americans are considered a "race".
"War? I don't want war, just enforcing the laws is fine"
Me too, but it's no longer that simple. I saw a female LEGAL mexican immigrant, definitely anti-amnesty, interviewed on Fox. When asked how she thought the protestors really felt (mexican flag vs. american flag) she said, make no mistake, they hate you, they hate your country and they just want what you have. She said that the protest message being sent to Americans and our government is, in fact, a declaration of WAR.
So, apparently anything less than complete and immediate amnesty and we are in deep doo doo. I'm thinking the local police are pretty much helpless when a gazillion people take over the streets of LA, Houston, Atlanta, etc.
Thanks for the information on Nativo Lopez and brother. It looks too close and personal for me. I have the feeling that it was the big boys in the union that said "No".
FYI, Janet and all, go to post #39 and hit the link that was posted. I know you are keeping up with this like I am.
Thanks again for the info.
I will be purchasing an additional 1000 rounds of ammo on that day.
"Then he faltered. Lopez accepted campaign contributions from developers and rewarded them with construction contracts; his organization recorded radio segments calling then-Governor Gray Davis a pinche guerito (fucking little white man) for not allowing illegal immigrants to obtain drivers licenses. Smelling blood, conservative opponents launched a recall. In early 2003, 71 percent of Santa Ana voters threw him off the school board.
Lopez has wandered the political desert since, reappearing occasionally to pen a short-lived newspaper column and act as a reliable punching bag for influential conservative magazines ranging from WorldNetDaily to The Weekly Standard and The American Spectator. But the recent marches have put Lopez in the spotlight anew. Hes making the rounds of all the talk showsoutside rap, theres no one faster to the microphone. His most memorable appearance so far aired April 10 on CNNs Lou Dobbs Tonight, where Lopez objected to the commentators use of the term illegal alien.
First of all, I refute your terminology, Lopez thundered to Dobbs before a national audience. You dont say kike, paddy, wop, Okay. You dont say nigger! Youre using language thats offensive to me and offensive to my people! You pollute the air every day, Dobbs. You are absolutely wrong. That language is offensive, its derogatory, its denigrating, and dont use that terminology to me again, referring to my people!
But its hard to find the people Lopez claims are his, except in the abstract. His last three mass-mobilization efforts flopped. In late 2003, Lopez ordered California Latinos to stage a one-day economic boycott to protest Governor Arnold Schwarzeneggers veto of a bill that would have allowed illegal immigrants to obtain drivers licenses; few Latinos participated. Shortly after Costa Mesa Mayor Allan Mansoor revealed his plans to give local police immigration powers, Lopez announced a boycott of any business that wouldnt publicly denounce Mansoor; those plans died after anti-Mansoor business owners dismissed Lopezs idea as unrealistic. And Lopez predicted 5,000 people would show at the April 2 Costa Mesa rally; the subsequent strong showing of 1,500 was overshadowed by Lopezs hyperbole.

Neither are "Anglos" but Political Correctness has perverted the American race lexicon to the point that it is now meanigless babble.
"Race" is an artificial invention and how the word "race" is used depends on both the time in History as well as the culture. In 19th Century and early 20th Century America, it was customary to speak of the "Anglo-Saxon Race".
While that particular use of the terms "race" and "Anglo-Saxon" are at odds with modern-day anthropological use, at least the combined terms had a specific meaning.
In the 1890's, the term "Anglo-Saxon" meant "of British stock". It did NOT mean the Irish Catholics, the Scandinavians, the Germans, the Spanish, the French, the Greeks, the Italians and certainly not the Eastern Europeans coming in through Ellis Island.
Now, any American of European stock is labelled an "Anglo" after a particular tribe of Germanic barbarians and a full-blooded Mayan from the Yucatan is labelled an "Hispanic" after the Roman province of Hispania.
Go figure.
Any American of pure European stock (other than English) who goes back to the land of his European ancestors and proclaims to his European cousins that he is an "Anglo" would become an immediate laughing-stock.
Even in Great Britain, a Scotsman and a Welchman would bristtle at hearing his American cousin describe himself as an "Anglo".
In my own case, my nationality is American, my ethnic background is Cuban and, when in Spain, my bloodlines would be described by the Spaniards as three quarters Galician and Asturian and one quarter Castilian. "Anglo" has absolutely no place in the equation.
The Mexicans use the term "race" (La Raza) in the same context that 19th Century Americans used the term "Anglo-Saxon Race".
To the Mexican, the term "La Raza" refers to the Mexican Mestizo "race" which had its origins sometime around 1515 A.D., given or take three years.
In 1511, fifteen Spanish sailors were shipwrecked in Yucatan and captured by the Mayan. A few were served for dinner, others died but two of them survived, including one Gonzalo Guerrero who became a military advisor to a Mayan chieftain and had married a rich Mayan woman and had had children with her.
When Cortez landed in Cozumel, he heard about these two Spanish survivors and sent messangers inviting them to join him. One survivor joined Cartez and became a translator. However, Guerrero declined saying, "Look at my beautiful children, look at my beautiful wife. And how could I ever go back to Spain looking as I do?" He'd been extensively tattooed by then, in recognition of his achievements on the battlefield.
Guerreos children were the first Mexican Mestizos (people of mixed European and indigenous non-European ancestry).
Today, Mexico's population is approximately 60% Mestizo, 30% pure Indian and 9% white.
The Mexicans consider the Mestizo to be "the Mexican race", consider Guerrero's children to be "the first Mexicans" and consider Guerrero to be "El Padre del Mestizaje".........literally, "The Father of the Mestizo Race".
Monument to Gonzalo Guerrero, his wife Ixpilotzma and their children, the first "Mexicans".
Be that as it may, regardless of the use of the term "race" in either a modern-day anthropological context or in a looser cultural heritage context, the fact remains that the opposition to illegal aliens is not based on race but on the fact that illegal aliens are making a mockery of our national core value of the Rule of Law.
Ah, but there is the rub. Are you actually an "Anglo" or are you actually a Swabian, a Saxon, a Bavarian, a Rhinelander, a Frisian or a Mecklenburger. :-)
That is my point. The American lexicon has lost all relation to what those European terms have actually meant throughout all of European history.
.....but 50% everything else I guess that makes me a plain old mutt. But I am and always will be 100% American.
To the Anglo-Saxon nativist of the 1800's, you would be part of the "mongrel race" he warned about that would someday make America "no longer an Anglo-Saxon nation". That "no longer Anglo-Saxon" tipping point came about in approximately 1903.
Up until World War II, Americans tended to marry within their own ethnic groups. Therefore,my father-in-law is a third generation American but of 100% Danish stock and my mother-in-law is a third generation American but of 100% Polish stock. I am also in the "pure breed" club.
However, my kids are on their way to "Heinz 57 mutt" status. Thirteen hundred years of careful breeding down the drain. ;-)
However, America is not about race or ethnically pure bloodlines. America is about ideas and values.
I could careless about the race or ethnic background of an immigrant but I demand that he be legal, that he love America and that, once he becomes a citizen, that his first loyalty be to America.
My paternal great-grandfather and grandmother were both (LEGAL) German immigrants who arrived, met and married right here in the US in the late 1900's.
We still celebrate our German heritage ... but only a little. We are all Americans FIRST. My mother is "everything else" but she's American all the same, too.
Thanks for the education, Polybius. :-)
I don't think that either one of you are from really strong pioneer stock are you? Do you have your white flags ready and your "Spanish for Dummies" book. We will all need them if we think like you.
This is our country. Not theirs. We do what we want and if that means war then that's better than shaking in my boots and being scared of offending someone. Get a backbone. Be an AMERICAN.

That was completely uncalled for, and downright rude. I spent 20 years in the United States Army. I'm a Desert Storm Vet, you twit. Is that enough of a "backbone" for you? Do you live where I live? No. Has your little Cow Town been shot up by immigrant Gang Bangers recently? Mine has.
Would I serve the greater good working with my legislators, making phone calls and getting laws passed to close our borders and boot illegals out, or waving a flag at a rally?
I'll be expecting to see you post pictures of what you did on May 1st at a rally near you. I want to see you face to face with one of these guys screaming at him to go home.
Before that, I'll be expecting an apology for your rudeness to both myself and Kimberly. You have completely p*ssed me off...and that is a first for my years on Free Republic.
Admin: No action required from you; I can fight my own battles. I just wanted you to witness the uncalled for rudeness we received from this poster in case it becomes a problem for anyone else. Thanks.
Thank you for your service Diana and for copying me on your reply. I too was taken back at being admonished for not being willing to counterprotest. I have been berating myself ever since, but still believe that as much as I'd like to participate, due to the fact that I am disabled and use a walker, I wouldn't be much of a match for even a child, and would have no way of protecting myself. Still, I feel helpless that it seems that while a huge majority of Americans want no amnesty for illegals, that huge majority has no representation at these protests and, thus, no 'realtime' voice. I have written both my reps in the house and senate more than once. I've also chastized members of MSM via e-mail for NOT reporting the truth of what will happen on May 1 if the nation is completely shut down. I have seen the picures like these:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1620198/posts?q=1&&page=1
and they scare the heck out of me. I'm outraged and feel that even my efforts are no efforts at all.
All our 'get a backbone' replier did was make me feel worse than I already do. Wish there was something more I could do. If anyone can think of anything, advise!
Thanks again.
