Rumor has it one of the kids can prove he wasn't even at the house when the alleged rape occurred. This could get very ugly for the DA.

I wonder why the names are different than the three names that the stripper originally claimed: Adam, Bret, and Matt...

Prosecutorial abuse is unfortunately a widespread problem in the US. Any practical suggestions what to do to lessen its frequency?

The grand jury apparently has some reason to charge them. Think I'll wait for the actual evidence to come out instead of listening to the spin of defense attorneys and the prosecutor.

This reminds me of such life destroying witch hunts we have seen in states like California and Washington where prosecutors were looking for career making cases to make a name for themselves.

I remember that story of a california pre-school run by a family where a glory seeking DA tried to accuse them all of child molestation. In the end, the people were completely proved innocent. Not a single act of child molestation ever occured. But not before their school was bankrupted and their lives & careers ruined.

Finnerty's assault charge in DC is red meat to PC types ... it was played up as gay bashing. Is Nifong "perp shopping" for political purposes?

These charges will be dropped after the election since he is only using these boys to increase his share of the black vote.

People who are falsely accused as is probable in this case should have a right to sue the government for damages involving the the full cost of legal fees required to defend themselves and for pain and suffering if found to be innocent. Such a law would prevent indictments based on flimsy evidence and would also prevent the courts from being used as a political weapon in order to get reelected.

WSB News just said the charges against the 2 players include rape and kidnapping.

[First I've heard that the woman was kidnapped.]

I know the charges are serious (even doubting their validity) but a $400K bond?

This DA is just seriously asking for a public drubbing. It ought to be fun to watch, though. Nothing warms my black little heart like lawyers getting their posteriors publicly handed to them.

< Collin Finnerty >

Wonder if he's related to Kevin Finnerty, Tony Soprano's Purgitory ID.

There appears to be no real evidence. Plenty of DNA was available but all were negative. These two girls went to a frat party to strip. they were expecting maybe a sewing circle?

Credibility hangs on the "victim's" word. The alleged victim is an exotic dancer (code word for hooker) who was drunk and who has a past criminal record. Shades of Twana Brawley! Where is Reverend Al Sharpton when you need him?

There must not be much happening in the world for the media to spend so much time on this unspectacular and common incident. It probably didn't happen. If it did, punish the rapers and let's move on.
