CAPITOL HILL (AP) Police have closed off entries and exits to the U.S. Senate's Dirksen Office Building. The Dirksen building itself was not evacuated.
Police have also announced that people should avoid a sub-basement level where a subway connects the building to the Capitol.
Fire trucks and ambulances are positioned between the Capitol grounds and the office building. Some firefighters have put on white hazardous material outfits.
Ping!
I've seen that "subway" on film. Maybe the apparatus caught on fire.
What is going on with this? Is this on Fox?
The Hildebeast is coming through to take Old Black Crusty to the dry cleaners - finally?
Quick, check on the whereabouts of Cynthia McKinney. Even though she's a Representative and not a Senator, I'm sure she'd feel entitled to rush the barriers and barge her way into the Senate Office Building.

Thanks for posting the picture of the subway, Shermy.
IIRC, this same building was evacuated last week due to smoke (electrical fire).
At least they're getting plenty of practice if this ever turns out to be the real thing.
I first heard the story on local ABC news. I don't know if Fox has it yet.
Wasn't that the Supreme Court Building?
I'm not even going to try to top that! Winner! LOL!
Is the Congress even in session?
Thanks for the longer article. Weird stuff.

If only they would seal the Senate to keep Senators out.
So, does anybody think that this may have been a test run to gauge the response?
I guess we shouldn't assume anything until the final testing of the substance comes back.
It still makes me wonder, though.
