The Democrats have no solutions, so it is going to be the Republican voter who stays at home that will doom the election for us.

No, it's going to be the republican leadership that dooms the election for us...

"The Democrats have no solutions"

No they don't, but look at the loud mouthed way way left of center the MSM has been parading around. How much have the Democrats detached themselves from their base? The Republicans don't have the corner on anger from DC these days.

Good assessment T90, and that is the same thing I was telling some FReeper who was thinking of staying home because of something the party had done that didn't sit well with him (and there are several). The thing is that sitting home just gives the Dems an extra vote, and while GW has not been 'perfect' by any measure he is still better than any Dem out there (and the Dems would be far worse on all measures). The Dems have no viable solutions to anything (apart from blaming Bush), and the only way we can lose is by warming our lazychairs come election day.

Just out of curiosity, doom what? That isn't doomed already exactly?

That is exactly right. Then the media will spin it into a how the country is swinging to the "center" (read: Far Left) again and all is well. In reality, frustrated Republicans will simply have tuned out politics and just quietly moved on with life in whatever form it takes.

No, it will be the Republican Congress and Senate that doom the election, because of their out-of-control spending, restrictive laws (e.g. Campaign Finance), and their refusal to seal the borders and do something, anything, about illegal immigration. That's what will doom the election this fall. It will be on the heads of the elected officials, not on the electorate that has worked so hard to get them elected time after time, only to be told to shut up until the next election.

But you and I will be working VERY HARD to get rid of our WI 'Rat Governor, AG and at least put up a fight, versus rolling over against Kohl, Feingold & Baldwin, right? ;)

"The Democrats have no solutions, so it is going to be the Republican voter who stays at home that will doom the election for us."

And just what "solutions" do the Republicans have?

It seems like your vote does not matter any more. It's the same career politicians on both sides being elected year after year after year by the lemmings (voters).

Within 15 minutes of poll closing, anything that was said to entice the voters is forgotten. Happens each election cycle. We, as a society, just keep sinking deeper and deeper into a cesspool no matter who is voted into office.

With the Democrats, you sink quick...with the Republicans, you sink just a little bit slower. The fact is that you still sink.

The "party" on both sides is designed for only one purpose...that is to prevent any challenge for a new outside party or individual. Their weapon of choice is MONEY and INFLUENCE to buy votes from special interests.

The GOP ain't all that great in coming up with solutions either. Tax reform? Entitlement reform? Immigration reform? Spending reform? Energy independence? Where they act at all they seem to be acting not for the people but for moneyed interests. The perfect example is that just prior to Tax Day, instead of discussing how to make the tax burden lighter, the top item on the agenda was an attempt to give citizenship to 11 million illegal aliens.

"The Democrats have no solutions, so it is going to be the Republican voter who stays at home that will doom the election for us."

I disagree. If the Republican voter stays home, it's because he sees no point in re-electing Republican incumbents who act like Democrats. If our Rs won't change, they need to be replaced; if they keep their jobs while doing what we don't want, then they're encouraged to keep it up.

Fortunately, in my district the RINO incumbent (who sneaked in the primary last time because there were 3 good Republicans and himself and the vote split) is being challenged and won't even be a candidate in the fall, God willing. So, I should be able to happily vote Republican to replace a useless RINO without even staying home and enduring a Rat for two years.

Or, perhaps, the Republican leadership. Put the real blame where it belongs.
