A local talk show host was hitting this story earlier this week. He was saying that he didn't understand how the prosecutor could possibly have a case, considering:

1. The semen and other DNA-related evidence from the supposed victim matched NONE of the Duke players.

2. The other stripper has not corroborated the story.

3.The supposed time line doesn't work out.

My suspicion is that the woman left the party (with help from the players), but in her drunken state, found trouble and it was more convenient to blame the Duke players.

And now it sounds like there might be reason to doubt the hospital report as well....

One of the things I don't see reported is how many men's semen did the "dancer" have on, in, around her? What other DNA evidence is there?

This is critical evidence and it does not seem to be coming out.

If there is any semen at all, the prosecution is going to have a very hard time.

somebody refresh me.....was there ANY semen found ?..... not only that.....but there is no way a DA in any other district could get away with testing men of one color and not the other, no matter what the victim says.....especially if the DA believes the victim was tipsy or "drugged" or knocked out.....

There's also something that bothers me about the comments that she can do anything naked she wants in front of these guys, but if she doesn't want to be touched, then she shouldn't have one little fingerprint on her....that it would be assault or rape.

Sorry, but there's a huge difference between the "I was dancing naked in front of a stag party" rape and the type where someone is overpowered by in a brutal assault.

It's like selling "I hate Mohammed" lapel pins in downtown Baghdad and complaining that someone tried to kill you. Sure they did, but you weren't being the brightest crayon in the box, either.

She probably had sex, maybe rough sex before arriving at the house. When she passed out and the cops arrived, she could have feared being charged with drug possession or who knows what...loss of her children if jailed, kicked out of college, any number of things. She could have thought, well, I'll claim I was drugged and raped by these white guys. Shift the blame. In the meantime the story grew to be huge, and you can bet some lawyer's said, I'll get you a boatload of money, honey. Just sit tight. (Even if they're are found not guilty, we can sue for damages in civil court. Sue Duke, too. They've got more money than you can shake a stick at! Whoo Hoow!)

I heard that this new DNA test will be able to tell the race of the semen donor. If that semen came from a black person it's all over.
