Question for conservatives who vote for Republican candidates every few years because the Republicans are the "lesser of two evils." P>
How is your voting strategy working out?
Since "conservative" Republicans have taken over the House of Representatives 11 years ago, the expansion of government has continued at every level. Nothing has been done to stop the holocaust of abortion. Gay marriage under the guise of "civil unions" is becoming a norm in our society. Our government continues in its Wilsonian tradition of globe-trotting and nation-building with the precious blood of American soldiers fertilizing the subjected nations, making them "safe for democracy."
Nothing has been done to deter the invasion of over 10 million illegal immigrants across our southern border. Taxation as a percentage of income is at record levels. Federal and state government debts are at record levels. The middle class of the American citizenry have the boot of the government planted squarely on their necks and continue to shoulder much of the monetary burden that keeps our corrupt governments breathing.
Conservative voters, I ask you again...How is your voting strategy working out? Have the "lesser" of evils advanced your agenda? (I really don't believe that this "evil" is lesser at all...but is merely a different flavor of evil. Much like choosing between strawberry or chocolate ice cream...the underlying substance is the same with the only difference being the flavor.)
I'm not asking if they have promised to advance your agenda (because I know their rhetoric).
I'm asking, "What has the Republican Party done for you and your cause?"
Words without actions are MEANINGLESS.
To use a quote from one of my all-time favorite superheroes in one of my all-time favorite movies (Batman Begins), "It's not what you are underneath that matters, but what you do that defines you."
In politics, it's not what you SAY that matters...but what you will DO once elected to office...
Until there is a paradigm shift in the thinking of conservatives, our nation will continue slouching toward certain destruction...Until there is a revolution in the minds and thought processes of dyed-in-the-wool conservatives who regularly vote Republican, there will be no legitimate change in our nation's course...Until the conservatives arise from their mental dormancy and slumber, our nation will continue to creep toward certain judgment.
Conservative brothers and sisters...OPEN YOUR EYES!
Those who think you can stop an aircraft carrier, speeding at 30+ knots in the wrong direction, and turn it around on a dime deny the laws of physics.
I've suffered some disappointments to be sure but, overall, I'm pleased with the progress we managed to make thus far.
correction: he ran as a libertarian, to the right of the Scott McCallum, the republican.
Why risk losing when we have been "winning" for so long?
We can be so smug here. But we have no reason to be smug. We might get our butts trounced this fall, but it will have little to do with how many or how few of us vote for the constitution or any other party, for that matter.
I am no longer going to vote "Republican" just to vote against a democRat. Republicans want my vote? Then they need to be Republicans. Don't blame me if it's not good enough for me.
For an education on multiparty political systems see entry at Italy. It's not pretty. The two party system is infinitely superior to one where the parties are so numerous that pluralities are never achieved. No thanks.
Every dog has his day, but today is not yours; too many A$$E$ you have been sniffing. The constitution Party is known by every Republican pollster and strategist. They will know when the Constitution Party receives more votes than normal, and the Republicrats get less than normal, that the base is teaching them a lesson. Only then will the Republicans move back toward their base. I challenge you to go to your Republican representative's or senator's web page and see the liberal, big government agenda and ideas that they are proud to be pushing. The Republican Party is not a conservative party any longer. I know it hurts, but change is inevitable. Teach them a lesson now so that you don't have to in the Presidential elections of 2008.
Pathetic.
Your effort at party recruitment needs a bit of a makeover.
I'll vote for the best Conservative candidates available, and continue to voice my displeasure with those who retain office and those not up for reelection who do not act like true Conservatives would. Under no condition will I throw my vote away by voting third party or Democrat.
"Lets get under the hood of the car, Larry"
To those who are down on the Constitution or Libertarian parties because they haven't had many electoral victories yet, do you know how many Republicans were in office prior to President Lincoln being elected as a Republican?
Case in point. 2 men in my house, Salazar an armed serial killer, and Allard a compulsive gambler. I know Salazar is going to rape and kill me slowly no matter what. But Allard is hinting at stealing my money to bet on health care futures. I can trust Salazar, he's an psychopath, but I can't trust Allard.
So in a choice of certain doom and predictable evil, and uncertain moderation you prefer a vicious rat anal cavity search. I am amazed at the way you think jwh_Denver.
And if the Constitution Party should somehow gain political power, they will be different how?
They won't sell out?
They won't use the public purse to buy votes?
They won't disregard their campaign promises when it comes time to raise money for their re-election?
The Constitution Party's ideas sure sould real nice. I'd like the see that party successfully manage a state, or a city, or even a town for a couple of years first, before I'd seriously consider voting for them for any Federal Office.
Heck, break the 1% barrier
Until then, the Constitution Party is just the political version of MENSA, smarter then everybody else, but unable to fathom why nobody pays any attention to them.
Highly skilled poster taught by the DNC? You know damn well that's not what I'm talking about. You do an anal search on yourself to find your brain. Don't bother pulling it out.
A look at your profile and no rebuttal is necessary. Have a great day and vote liberal in 2006, Demonrat or Respendican.
If you switch your affiliation to the Constitution Party then you're tuning into the message of the Constitution Party. Also, you're shifting the membership statistics in a way that causes the Republicans to pause the next time they consider acting in a non-conservative fashion.
You are absolutely right about this. If we could get a groundswell of folks to register with a party like the Constitution or Libertarian parties, they'd notice.
Totally agree. Both the LP and CP are clueless.
Yes I believe you are. You are the one saying you can trust a rat but not a Republican.
