Also what I saw was a mug with a cuddly chick in it.
Just got home from our travels north to celebrate Easter Sunday with family . . . over 60 of us crowded into my Grandmother's small home -- fortunately, the beautiful weather enabled the kids to spend most of the time outside hunting Easter eggs and playing basketball or kickball!
. . . an AWESOME time was had by one and all!
[The drive was tiring, so I'm going to do some laundry then get to bed . . . Night all!]
Night sounds as if you had a wonderful time.
Well I think it about time I turned in - need to thoroughly wash my hands though have just put the cold turkey in the fridge and they are very greasy. Smell lovely though LOL.
Think we have enough turkey to last most of the week. Yummy I love cold turkey.
I got question I wonder if certain first mutts be spent time with kids at Easter Egg roll this year you know who I talking about LOL!
BTW is that Jenna Welch with Granddaughter I think Jenna Bush with her
Barbra is the daughter that is with her grandmother Jenna Welch.
LOL! I'm glad you showed me that pic. If they have little wire feet, then they're the same ones.
I'm on my way to bed, too. Long, long day since i've been up since three a.m. last night with only an hour and a half of sleep since then. YAWN!
Sleep well, Snugs. You've earned it.
OH OKAY I see hey Snugs you going have lots of tourists this June I hearing that Trooping of Color going be special this year according to UK Sunday Papers something they going throw Queen Betty 80th birthday which her official birthday is April 21 LOL!
OH well must be Brit traditon thing LOL!
Hi snugs and Txsleuth, it's 9:00pm here. I just got online for a few minutes to check my pings and saw your question. Thought I'd quickly answer even though you won't see it until morning.
Here's a photo of the town of Avalon and Avalon Harbor from the air. I scanned it from a postcard. This view looks from east to west across the island. Avalon is the only town. There are tiny hamlets in a few coves around the coast of the island, and a research station. Otherwise the rest of the island is a nature preserve.
Avalon Harbor is shaped like a horseshoe. Starting on the lower right, you see the short breakwater and a round building. That's a casino and ballroom which was built circa 1930. These days it houses a museum, the island's only movie theater, shops where locals sell their crafts, etc.
If you follow around the horseshoe from the casino, you see two white boat houses/docks in the upper right. You can just see one of them in the photo I posted earlier (to answer your question, snugs). Those are used by the locals. In the upper center part of the horseshoe the waterfront of shops and hotels begins. There is a small, but nice beach. The waterfront caters to tourists. The pier in the upper left also caters to tourists. You can rent fishing and snorkling equipment. That's where you can catch a ride on one of the glass bottomed boats that take tourists to see the kelp beds and to feed the fish.
Lastly, on the right side of the horseshoe you see a large concrete pier and smaller docks. That's where the express boats from the mainland dock.
Big cruise ships stop regularly at Catalina, but they can't come into the harbor. So they ferry their passengers in by smaller motorized launches.
If you're interested, I'll send you some photos of the dolphins that swim alongside boats, like what happened Friday on my trip home from the island. All of the wildlife is protected. Most people even throw the sport fish they catch back into the ocean. In the interior there are bald eagles, fat little squirrels, buffalo, deer and other wildlife. The ocean is rich with marine life and seabirds.
Avalon Harbor is jammed with visiting private boats during the height of the summer season, but the harbor is kept very clean.
Thanks so I was sort of right it was what we would call a jetty but not for the small boats but for the ferry.
Yes I would love to see photos of the dolphins, when I went on a Whale watch in the Boston area in September 1997 there were not that many though we did see a few.
Thanks for the link some great photos - snagged.
In some of the photos it looked like that but some of them he looked about the same. The angle of the camera I think.
Though probably from about a year - 18 months ago he probably has lost a bit.
Health and safety will not allow them to be wire anymore they have to be plastic so how you can attach them to a basket not sure, probably have to sellotape (scotchtape) them.
Yes should be a good event I will post a couple of photos.
On a couple of occasions, when someone was deriding Laura that way, I just said that it was sad that they didn't have a clue about a healthy marriage and how good relationships work.
Shut them up good. ;)
