Guess what I'll be doing on Earth Day, next Saturday? Yep. Selling trees, LOL! MIL has a reunion of some sort to go to, so I'll be in charge of The Tree Market that day. I can't WAIT to lay it on all hot and heavy to the Yuppies that will come on out to the farm that day for their "Earth Day" purchases. I'll guilt them into spending hundreds of dollars! The Wiccans, too, are always good for a few hundred bucks on Earth Day as they search for a new variety of tree to worship and hug and tell their deep, dark secrets to. ;)

(MIL sold $2K in trees today; I'm going to beat her record by $100 or more next weekend.)

Now, don't get me wrong; I ADORE trees. Since I bought my farm a decade ago, I've added 100+ trees to my property. They clean the air and are pretty and useful for pine cones and apples & peaches & pears and increasing your Property Value and are an excellent source of income should one care to take the time to grow and maintain them, pot them up and sell them to the Earth First crowd. :)

Just call me a Crunchy Conservative Capitalist. :)

ROFLMSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

You and me both, my friend, you and me both!!!!

I'm hoping to get another "Fruit Cocktail" Tree this year to pair with the one we bought last year (Mother's day is fast approaching - hint, hint)

Strawberries will go in Monday at the latest - it all depends on how late we are at Church tomorrow (Easter Egg hunt and party for the kids after service)

And they're inexpensive and simple to irrigate. You can put in a drip system connected to an outdoor hose barb for next to nothing. Trees love it! And you can even use the irrigation system for fertilizer (fertigation).

You can extend the system to your garden, as well -- zoning it, if necessary.

"Now, don't get me wrong; I ADORE trees."

What's with the disclaimer? You don't need one. You could say to your customers "Well,I don't know, I love that tree so much...I'll let it go sniffle sniffle.. for 2000 bucks. Take it before I change my mind."

Impress the environazis by naming each of your trees, individually: "Let's see....Frances Jean Poplar is $14.95. Her cousin, Peter Paul Gumdrop is just $12.95. They've shared the same 'bed' since germination!"
