The discovery channel had a show on crop circles. They filmed the guys creating it then brought in the "experts." I use the term "expert" very loosely. Loonies would be a better description. Anyway, each of the experts were able to detect signs of alien or other powerful influences at work. They felt "energies" that were so subtle that only enlightened people could feel them. Oh, yes, I know the one you're talking about! I saw it too. It was the one with 3 or 4 experienced-crop-circle- making Brits, each with a board looped with a thick rope, and graph paper, etc. In a few hours, under the cover of darkness (the film was shot using "night vision" tech.) they produced an extraordinarily complex crop circle.
That documentary just blew this whole [cue the On Step Beyond music] "Alien Crop Circle" thinga-mahoozy right out of the water.

Only for the uninformed and not all that perceptive or discerning. The program was full of holes.
Linda Moulton Howe's book is much more extensive in the scientific analysis. She's a quality researcher and reporter.
1. The scientifically verified distinctions between hoaxed vs authentic crop circles are numerous.
2. There's not enough hoaxers and time for them to make all the crop circles--especially the larger more precise and complex ones.
3. The program deliberately held 'the experts' out who were the flakier sort.
4. Essentially, the program used a number of tried and true disniformation strategies to trash the topic. Clearly it worked.
