CNN LOU DOBBS TONIGHT (Transcript, CO Gov. Bill Owens)
CNN.com - Transcripts ^ | 04/14/06 | Transcript

Posted on 04/14/2006 10:58:20 PM PDT by CowboyJay

Coming up next, Colorado has the fastest growing population of illegal aliens in the country. I will be talking with Colorado's governor, Bill Owens about border security, illegal immigration. Stay with us.

-snip-

DOBBS: Well, when you say they're changing the character and the culture of your state, what do you mean?

OWENS: You know, we have school districts in Colorado, which now have a majority of illegal youngsters or kids out of illegal parents. We have two out of every three new people moving to Colorado in the last five years are coming from other countries. There is a way to fix this problem. I am aware and very much concerned with the impact on social services and all of the other impacts of this new wave of immigration.

DOBBS: Right.

-snip-

OWENS: And it's not easy. And I guess the approach that I think we need to do is build that security barrier where it's needed, build a wall to start to protect that border. But we also -- and this is where I differ with you -- we also do need to have a program to match willing workers to the jobs that simply aren't being filled by Coloradans or Americans.

DOBBS: Yes, I'm not -- you know, if you and I can agree on the fact that -- and if you can convince your party's leader, President Bush, that we need to secure our borders four and a half years after September 11 with three million illegal aliens crossing every year and secure our ports before anyone wants to get too excited about amnesty then we've got something to talk about, is that what you're saying?

Owens has landed in the guest-voter camp. I'm sure this is a bit of a surprise given his solid anti-illegal stances in the past.

Let him know what you think.

"We have two out of every three new people moving to Colorado in the last five years are coming from other countries."

Call me a racist, a xenophobe, or whatever you want: this is bad. Talk about completely rewriting the cultural landscape of a place.

I'm personally of the opinion that multiculturalism is rarely, if ever, a good thing. Slow assimilation is fine. The complete mixing of cultures just causes conflict and unhealthy competition and resentment. It's not good for a community.

I don't think anyone will call you those names (at least not with any sincerity). This cultural invasion is grotesque. Pouring uninvited strangers all over our country, strangers who have shown a very high degree of violent criminal propensity (like the fact that 30% of prisoners (note I didn't say apple pickers)) are Mexican citizens.

What makes me most sick is that all this should never happen because we have the organizations in place that can more than correct this (police, national guard, border patrol, court system, a powerful Presidency, a House, a Senate, etc), but they are CAUSING this to happen. What a sick feeling.

Not surprising. Now that he is a lame duck, his true colors have shown over and over. He's no conservative.

This is from the interview. Look at how Owens trips over his tongue saying "that border" and "that security wall where it's needed", not just "The border with Mexico":

DOBBS: What's happening at the federal level? You better have more than hope, governor, because it isn't pretty, as you well know.

He runs the pathetic "willing workers" and the "jobs Americans won't do" lines at the end too. These turd politicians have caused this to happen, now they think they can runaway and leave the mess as if to say "You just take it! You SOB Americans!!!"

This is such, such a disgusting and unnatural situation to be thinking about each and every day. I can't believe this is happening in America. I want the laws enforced, by the people being paid to enforce them!

"Owens has landed in the guest-voter camp."

When hasn't Owens been in that camp?

Solid anti-illegal stances? You obviously have forgotten about his advocating the granting of in state tuition for, illegal alien, Jesus Apodaca and stating that he didn't want illegal aliens, including the entire Apodaca family, deported.

Next time don't forget the sarcasm tag.

Owens has had the backbone of a wet noddle. It's a wonder he can even stand up to walk.

we also do need to have a program to match willing workers to the jobs that simply aren't being filled by Coloradans or Americans.

Why o' why do people keep promoting this red herring?

Illegal aliens are not going to cheerfully line up, hand over their personal data, and see a third of their income (at a lower pay rate) get confiscated for taxes.

GUEST WORKER PROGRAM IS A SCAM!

GUEST WORKER PROGRAM IS A SCAM!

it is a fraud on the American people.

There is no money allocated for the registration of 11 million people, no money for the following of 11 million people. No mechanism for the registration or tracking of the "guest workers ".There is no money for the wall that is needed to keep there from being another 11 million in 10 years, no money for the "high tech " we keep hearing about, no money for increased security , no money to enforce the current law that is supposed to fine the tit that the politicians suck from ( corps and small businesses).

In short this is a fraud perpetrated by the political class for their own benefit. Remember when the communists used to say that capitalists would sell you the rope that you need to hang them? This is it guys !

Anybody else living in Colorado feel like they've been deported without due process?
